2hp Euclid
Euclidean rhythm generator with CV over length and fill density.
2 HP Eurorack module
Euclid is a 2HP Euclidean rhythm generator. Feed it a clock and it distributes a chosen number of "hits" as evenly as possible across a step pattern of a chosen length, producing the cyclical rhythms found in folk music worldwide and now woven through electronic music. Three knobs — LENGTH (1–16 step pattern), STEPS (how many of those steps are active), and OFFSET (rotation around the bar) — give immediate musical control, with CV over LENGTH and STEPS for evolving patterns. A RESET input forces the pattern back to step 1 for tight musical alignment.
Features
- Euclidean pattern generator
- 1 to 16 step pattern length
- Active-step (fill) control with even distribution
- Pattern rotation via OFFSET knob
- CV over pattern length (0 to +5 V)
- CV over active-step count (0 to +5 V)
- External clock advances pattern
- Hard reset input returns to step 1
- +5 V, 6 ms trigger output
- Output activity LED
- 2 HP, 42 mm depth, skiff-friendly
- Low power: 21 mA +12 V / 2 mA -12 V
Controls & Jacks (9)
- TRIG In — Clock/trigger input — each pulse advances the Euclidean pattern by one step.
- RESET In — Reset input — a trigger here returns the Euclidean pattern to step 1.
- LENGTH CV In — CV input for pattern length (0 to +5V). Voltage adds to the LENGTH knob position.
- STEPS CV In — CV input for active step count (0 to +5V). Voltage adds to the STEPS knob position.
- LENGTH — Sets total pattern length from 1 (fully left) to 16 steps (fully right). Sums with LENGTH CV In.
- STEPS — Sets number of active steps distributed across the pattern. Scaled to current LENGTH: fully left = 1 hit, center = half-fill, fully right =
- OFFSET — Rotates the pattern around the bar. Fully left = no offset; fully right = offset by LENGTH-1 steps. Useful for shifting the downbeat without
- OUT LED — Green LED — lights when the OUT jack fires a trigger on an active step.
- OUT — +5V trigger output. Fires a 6 ms pulse each time the Euclidean pattern lands on an active step.
