Freez is a voltage controlled locked looper that captures audio into a buffer and freezes it for real-time manipulation. Adjusting size and sample rate transforms the frozen audio into granular textures, pitch-shifted fragments, bit-crushed noise, and beat-repeat effects, making it a powerful tool for creating new sounds and timbres from any input signal.

Controls & Jacks (12)

  • SIZE CV INPUT— CV input for SIZE control (±5V)
  • S. RATE— Controls sample rate of the audio buffer from 2.36kHz to 96kHz; counterclockwise for lower rates, clockwise for higher rates
  • IN— Audio input (10Vpp)
  • S. RATE CV INPUT— CV input for S. RATE control (±5V)
  • OUT— Audio output (10Vpp)
  • Freeze LED— Indicates freeze state; illuminated when audio buffer is frozen, dark when dry signal passes through
  • TRIG— Trigger input for freeze control
  • SIZE— Controls the length of the audio buffer from 9ms to 3 seconds; counterclockwise increases buffer size, clockwise decreases it
  • Freeze— Toggles between momentary (up) and latching (down) freeze functionality
  • BUTTON— Manual freeze control; in momentary mode freezes while pressed, in latching mode toggles freeze state on press
  • FREEZ— Indicates freeze state; illuminated when audio buffer is frozen, dark when dry signal passes through
  • MODE— Toggles between momentary (up) and latching (down) freeze functionality
