ALM Busy Circuits Beast's Chalkboard
Dual-channel stepped voltage source and adder
6 HP Eurorack module
Beast's Chalkboard is a dual-channel stepped voltage source and adder, primarily intended as a dual VCO octave switcher.
Features
- Two channels provide fixed voltage addition or voltage sources in 1 V steps from -2 V to +2 V.
- Each channel has two buffered outputs and a thru output.
- Channel 1 input normalizes to Channel 2, so one input can be independently offset by both channels.
- The channels can be chained to extend the octave-switching range.
- It can function as a 1-to-6 or dual 1-to-3 buffered mult.
Controls & Jacks (10)
- Channel 2 Voltage/Octave Selector— Five-position rotary selector that sets Channel 2's fixed offset to -2 V, -1 V, 0 V, +1 V, or +2 V.
- Channel 2 Thru— Buffered duplicate of the Channel 2 input signal before its selected voltage offset.
- Channel 1 Voltage/Octave Selector— Five-position rotary selector that sets Channel 1's fixed offset to -2 V, -1 V, 0 V, +1 V, or +2 V.
- Channel 1 Thru— Buffered duplicate of the Channel 1 input signal before its selected voltage offset.
- Channel 1 Out 2— Second buffered Channel 1 output, carrying the input CV plus the selected -2 V to +2 V offset.
- Channel 2 In— Control-voltage input for Channel 2; receives the normalled Channel 1 input when unpatched.
- Channel 1 Out 1— First buffered Channel 1 output, carrying the input CV plus the selected -2 V to +2 V offset.
- Channel 1 In— Control-voltage input for Channel 1; normalled to the Channel 2 input when Channel 2 is unpatched.
- Channel 2 Out 2— Second buffered Channel 2 output, carrying the input CV plus the selected -2 V to +2 V offset.
- Channel 2 Out 1— First buffered Channel 2 output, carrying the input CV plus the selected -2 V to +2 V offset.
How-To Guides
- Offset one CV source with both channels
- Chain channels for extended range
- Use as a buffered mult
