Citadel Wave Bard is the sample-player half of Bastl's reversible Citadel panel pair (the other side is FX Wizard). It is a 16HP eurorack reimagining of the Kastle 2 Wave Bard firmware: a stereo, 16-bit / 44 kHz sample player with 6 factory banks of 8 samples each (expandable to 32 banks of up to 32 samples via the web sample loader), a unique reversing attack/decay envelope on the LENGTH knob, a built-in resonant LP/HP filter, a stereo delay or chorus/flanger/drive FX section, and a tightly synced 16-step CV+GATE pattern generator with switch-driven randomize/invert. Pitch can be quantized through user-editable scales via the NOTE input, FREE input provides continuous V/Oct, and TRS + USB MIDI bring the module into full conversation with a DAW. The patch bay, RND/INV pattern switches and tap-tempo BANK button make it a self-contained groove machine that still rewards heavy patching.

- Quantized pitch with 7 default scales + chromatic; up to 32 user-editable scales
- Tempo-synced LFO with triangle + pulse outputs, attenuverting LFO MOD input, RESET input, self-patchable wave-shaping
- 16-step CV + GATE pattern generator, tempo-synced; RND/INV switches normalled into pattern inputs
- GATE rhythm library (selectable via SHIFT+LFO MOD), user-editable in web app
