Befaco Crush Delay v3
Circuit-bent PT2399 delay meets VC noise generator
11 HP Eurorack module
Crush Delay is a PT2399-based echo-delay Eurorack module with a special talent for generating noisy, degraded textures through circuit bending techniques. It offers up to 400ms of clean delay at faster rates, but transforms into an advanced voltage-controlled digital noise generator as the time is slowed toward the crush zone. The module features dual VCA inputs, a send/return loop, and three independently gateable crush modifiers for a vast palette of sounds from pristine echo to chaotic drone.
Features
- PT2399 IC-based echo-delay with up to 400ms clean delay
- Circuit bending techniques applied to PT2399 for noise generation
- Three independent Crush modifiers with manual switches and gate inputs
- Gate input threshold of 3V for each Crush modifier
- Dual audio inputs: IN (routed to delay and dry/wet) and Return (routed to delay only)
- Dedicated VCA for IN input with manual In Vol knob and CV input
- Dedicated VCA for Return input with manual Ret Vol knob and CV input
- Both VCA CV inputs normalled to 10V so knobs act as attenuators when CV is patched
- Feedback VCA with manual knob and CV input for controlling delay repetitions
- Dry/Wet control with manual knob and CV input
- Time CV input summing to pot position, accepts +/-10V
- Feedback CV input summing to pot position, accepts +/-10V
Controls & Jacks (22)
- Crush Gate 1 — Gate input for first crush modifier. Threshold 3V.

- Dry/Wet
- In Vol — Volume of the main input signal. Acts as attenuator when CV is patched.
- Ret Vol CV — CV input for return volume control. VCA modulation input normalized to 10V.
- IN — Main audio input. Signal is routed through input VCA to both delay and dry/wet circuits.
- In Vol CV — CV input for input volume control. VCA modulation input normalized to 10V.
- Time CV — CV input for delay time control. Sums incoming voltage to knob position. Expects +/-10V.
- OUT — Main audio output. Contains the mix of dry input and wet processed signal controlled by dry/wet knob.
- Dry/Wet CV — CV input for dry/wet balance control. Sums incoming voltage to knob position. Expects +/-10V.
- Ret Vol — Volume of the signal present in Return input. Acts as attenuator when CV is patched.
- Send — Outputs the fully wet (processed) signal from the delay circuit.
- Crush Switch 1 — On/Off switch for first crush modifier. Can be activated manually or via gate input.
- Return — Secondary audio input. Signal is summed with main input and routed only to delay circuit.
- Feedback CV — CV input for feedback control. Sums incoming voltage to knob position. Expects +/-10V.
- Crush LED 1
- Crush Switch 2 — On/Off switch for second crush modifier. Can be activated manually or via gate input.
- Crush Gate 2 — Gate input for second crush modifier. Threshold 3V.
- Crush LED 2
- Crush Switch 3 — On/Off switch for third crush modifier. Can be activated manually or via gate input.
