Befaco Stereo Strip
Eurorack channel strip with EQ, VCA, and stereo panning
6 HP Eurorack module
The DivKid Stereo Strip is a 6HP Eurorack channel strip offering 3-band EQ, stereo VCA with CV control, manual and voltage-controlled panning, and a 3-way performance mute switch. It handles mono or stereo signals and bridges Eurorack and line level worlds, functioning as a tone-shaping, level-managing, and stereo-imaging tool with a soft-clipping limiter for musical saturation.
Features
- 3-band EQ: low shelf, mid bell, high shelf, each with approximately 12dB cut or boost
- EQ sliders have centre detents at 0dB
- Stereo VCA with manual Level knob and LVL CV input
- Level knob converts to CV attenuator when LVL CV is patched
- Three dots on Level knob graphic indicate unity gain positions for 5V, 8V, and 10V CV envelopes
- Manual pan knob with centre position for mono or stereo balance
- Dedicated Pan CV input with onboard CV attenuator knob
- Pan CV is wide-bandwidth supporting subsonic, audio-rate, and supersonic modulation
- LVL CV has restricted frequency response optimised for mute switch performance
- 3-way Mute switch: On (up), Off (middle), Momentary On (held down)
- Left input normalises to right input for mono-to-stereo operation
- Soft clipping limiter on output for protection and creative distortion
Controls & Jacks (17)
- LVL CV Input — Control voltage input for stereo VCA level. When patched, the level knob becomes an attenuator for incoming CV
- Right Input — Right channel audio input
- Right Output — Right channel audio output
- Pan CV Input — Control voltage input for panning. Sums with manual pan control, attenuated by the pan CV attenuator knob
- Left Output — Left channel audio output
- Pan — Manual panning control. With mono input pans between left and right outputs; with stereo input adjusts balance of left and right inputs
- Left Input — Left channel audio input. Normalizes to right input, allowing mono operation
- Pan CV Attenuator — Controls the depth of modulation of the pan CV. Sums with manual pan control to determine how much external modulation affects panning
- Input Activity LED Left — Green LED indicating input activity on left channel
- Input Activity LED Right — Green LED indicating input activity on right channel
- Level — VCA level control affecting both left and right inputs equally. Acts as manual control without CV, or as an attenuator when LVL CV is patche
- Mute — Three-position mute switch: up position is on, middle is off, downward position is momentary on for performance muting
- Low Shelf EQ — Low frequency shelf EQ control with center detent at 0dB, can boost or cut approximately 12dB
- Output Level — Switches between Eurorack level (down) and line level (up) output
- Mid Bell EQ — Mid frequency bell curve EQ control with center detent at 0dB, can boost or cut approximately 12dB
- High Shelf EQ — High frequency shelf EQ control with center detent at 0dB, can boost or cut approximately 12dB
- Input Level — Switches between Eurorack level (down) and line level (up) input
