Behringer Brains
24-engine oscillator with built-in scope and low-pass gate
16 HP Eurorack module
Brains is a high-resolution multi-engine oscillator module for Eurorack featuring 24 synthesis engines across three banks, including virtual analog, FM, physical modeling, percussion, and more. It runs at 96kHz with 32-bit internal processing and includes an OLED oscilloscope display for visual feedback. Its internal low-pass gate and envelope generator make it a highly self-contained sound source capable of everything from lush pads to percussive hits.
Features
- 24 synthesis engines across three color-coded banks (Red, Green, Yellow)
- 96kHz sample rate with 32-bit floating point internal processing
- 16-bit A/D and D/A converters

Controls & Jacks (21)
- Timbre — Attenuates the voltage received at the Timbre CV input or controls internal envelope modulation amount
- Harmonics — Adjusts frequency spread or tonal balance depending on selected model
- Morph — Attenuates the voltage received at the Morph CV input or controls internal envelope modulation amount
- Freq — Frequency adjustment - covers a range of 8 octaves, can be narrowed down to 14 semitones
- Trig — Triggers internal envelope generator, excites physical/percussive models, strikes low-pass gate, samples Model CV (0 to +8 V, 50 kΩ impedanc
- Model CV — Remote model selection via external control voltage (±5 V, 100 kΩ impedance)
- Timbre CV Level — Attenuates the voltage received at the FM CV input
- Timbre CV — Control Timbre parameter via external control voltage (±8 V, 50 kΩ impedance)
- FM — Attenuates the voltage received at the FM CV input
- Harmonics CV — Control Harmonics parameter via external control voltage (±5 V, 100 kΩ impedance)
- V/Oct — 1V/octave pitch control input (-3 to +7 V, 100 kΩ impedance)
- Out 1 — Main processed audio output (6.2 V max, 1 kΩ impedance)
- Morph CV — Control Morph parameter via external control voltage (±8 V, 50 kΩ impedance)
- FM CV — Frequency modulation control voltage input
- Model — Controls character or morphing parameter depending on selected model
- Level — Opens internal low-pass gate on output signal, controlling level and brightness (0 to +8 V, 50 kΩ impedance)
- Out 2 — Alternate or variant audio output (6.2 V max, 1 kΩ impedance)
- Bank — Toggles between red, green, and yellow synthesis engine banks
- DISPLAY — OLED display showing waveform of audio content and current model name
