Alright Devices Chronoblob2
Four-mode digital delay with clock sync and feedback loop
12 HP Eurorack module
Chronoblob2 is a digital delay module with four distinct delay modes including dual, ping-pong, single with feedback loop send/return, and cascade. It offers clock sync for rhythmic delays, CV control over time, feedback, and dry/wet mix, and a feedback send/return loop for inserting external effects into the echo chain. Musically it ranges from clean rhythmic echoes to wild self-oscillating textures and morphing tape-style pitch sweeps.
Features
- Four delay modes: Dual, Ping-Pong, Single, Cascade
- Clock sync via SYNC input for rhythmic, tempo-locked delays
- Continuously variable delay time from 5ms to 2.73s when unsynced
- CV inputs for Time, Feedback, and Dry/Wet with bipolar attenuverters
- Two independent TIME CV inputs for dual/ping-pong modes with right normalled to left
- Left TIME CV normalled to +5V for offset use without external CV
- Tape and Fade modulation modes for pitch-bend or smooth crossfade time changes
- Infinite Loop button and CV gate input for locking feedback loops
- Feedback send and return jacks for inserting external effects in feedback path
- Right audio input normalled to left in pink modes
- Right audio output mixed into left output in pink modes when right output unpatched
- Feedback range up to 125% with snap to 100% at the crossover point
Controls & Jacks (20)
- Feedback CV Attenuverter — Controls how strongly the Feedback CV input affects feedback amount. Center = no effect, left = inverted, right = normal.
- Time CV Attenuverter Right — Controls how strongly the right Time CV input affects delay time in dual/ping-pong modes. Center = no effect.
- Sync — Clock signal input for syncing delay time to a multiplier or divider.
- Time CV Attenuverter Left — Controls how strongly the left Time CV input affects delay time. Center = no effect, left = inverted, right = normal.
- Dry/Wet CV Attenuverter — Controls how strongly the Dry/Wet CV input affects the dry/wet mix. Center = no effect, left = inverted, right = normal.
- Infinite Loop — Activates infinite loop mode, shutting off audio inputs and locking feedback at 100%. Lights up when active. Toggles by default.
- Feedback CV — CV input for modulating feedback amount. Scaled by Feedback CV Attenuverter.
- Delay Mode — Cycles through four delay modes: DUAL, PING-PONG, SINGLE, and CASCADE. Current mode indicated by pink or blue LED.
- Time CV Left — CV input for modulating delay time. Normalled to +5V when unpatched. In dual/ping-pong modes, controls left delay.
- Time CV Right — CV input for modulating delay time. Normalled to Time CV Left when unpatched. In dual/ping-pong modes, controls right delay independently.
- Dry/Wet CV — CV input for modulating the dry/wet mix. Scaled by Dry/Wet CV Attenuverter.
- Infinite Loop CV — CV input for controlling Infinite Loop. Signal above 0.7V activates infinite loop.
- Audio In Left — Main audio input. In DUAL/PING-PONG modes: left delay input. In SINGLE/CASCADE modes: main delay input. Normalled to itself when right input
- Audio In Right — Secondary audio input. In DUAL/PING-PONG modes: right delay input, normalled to left input when unpatched. In SINGLE/CASCADE modes: feedback
- Audio Out Left — Main audio output. In DUAL/PING-PONG modes: left delay output. In SINGLE/CASCADE modes: main delay output. Becomes 50/50 mix when right outp
- Audio Out Right — Secondary audio output. In DUAL/PING-PONG modes: right delay output, mixed into left when unpatched. In SINGLE/CASCADE modes: feedback SEND.
- Dry/Wet — Controls the output mix between the original (dry) and delayed (wet) signals. Left = dry only, right = wet only.
- Feedback — Sets the level of the feedback signal sent back to the delay input. Range 0-125%, with snap-to-100% region.
- Left Status Indicator — LED that blinks white at the left delay rate and glows red when input is overloaded (over 20Vpp).
- Time — Sets delay time to a multiplication/division of clock signal if SYNC patched, otherwise sweeps delay time from 5ms to 2.73s.
