Cosmotronic Messor
Analog stereo compression, transient shaping, and sidechain control
8 HP Eurorack module
Messor is an analog stereo feed-forward VCA compressor for mix-bus glue, transient shaping, sidechain pumping, and creative over-compression. Its internal detector combines the stereo inputs, filters the sidechain, and shapes gain reduction with voltage-controllable attack, release, and cutoff. Makeup gain, warm saturation, stereo-VCA operation, and a negative envelope output extend it beyond conventional compression.
Features
- Analog stereo feed-forward VCA compressor
- Linked stereo gain reduction from a mono-summed detector
- Ratio range from off through limiting and negative over-compression
- Approximately 1-500 ms attack range
- Approximately 5 ms-3.5 s release range
- Voltage control of attack, release, and sidechain-filter cutoff
- Switchable 6 dB/octave low-pass or high-pass sidechain filter
- External sidechain input with internal stereo-sum normalization
- Post-compression makeup gain up to approximately +17 dB
- Gain CV supports stereo-VCA operation
- Warm tube-style soft-clipping circuit
- Independent negative gain-reduction envelope output
