Intellijel Dixie II+
Analog triangle-core VCO/LFO with five waveforms
8 HP Eurorack module
The Dixie II+ is a fully analog triangle-core VCO/LFO capable of generating five waveforms plus a sub-oscillator square wave. It offers linear and exponential FM inputs, pulse width modulation, sync, and flip inputs, making it a highly versatile oscillator with a warm, organic character. Equally at home as a musical voice or a modulation source in LFO mode, it covers frequencies from several-minute-long LFO cycles up to nearly 60 kHz.
Features
- Fully analog triangle-core oscillator design
- Five waveform outputs: sine, triangle, zig-zag, saw, and pulse
- Sub-oscillator output: 50% duty cycle square wave one octave below primary
- VCO mode: 20 Hz to nearly 60 kHz
- LFO mode: several-minute cycles up to approximately 1 kHz
- 8-position octave switch for coarse tuning
- Fine tune knob: +/-6 semitones in VCO mode, +/-7 octaves in LFO mode
- FM1 input switchable between linear and exponential response
- FM2 exponential frequency modulation input
- Pulse width control via front panel knob (10% to 90% duty cycle)
- PWM input (+/-5V) summed with pulse width knob
- PWM can drive pulse to 0% or 100%, halting output at extremes
Controls & Jacks (21)
- Fine — Attenuator for the FM1 input. Response type (linear/exponential) set by Exp/Lin switch.
- Flip — Flips the direction of oscillator travel when input waveform crosses zero.
- Pulse — Pulse wave output with variable width controlled by Pulse Width knob and PWM input.
- Square Sub — Square wave sub-oscillator output, one octave below the base oscillator.
- FM1 Attenuator — Fine tuning adjustment. In VCO mode: ±6 semitones. In LFO mode: ±7 octaves.
- Pulse Width — Sets base pulse width of PULSE output from 10% (fully counter-clockwise) to 90% (fully clockwise). Square wave at 12 o'clock. Summed with PW
- Sine — Sine wave output.
- Triangle — Triangle wave output.
- Sawtooth — Sawtooth wave output.
- Sub Out — Sub-octave square wave output, one octave below the main pitch.
- Sync — Resets oscillator to zero when input waveform crosses zero.
- FM1 — Linear or exponential frequency modulation input. Behavior determined by Exp/Lin switch.
- FM2 — Exponential frequency modulation input.
- PWM Attenuator — Attenuator for the PWM input.
- PWM — Pulse width modulation input, summed with Pulse Width knob. Range ±5V.
- 1V/Oct — Primary pitch voltage control input, 1 volt per octave.
- VCO/LFO — Switches between VCO mode (20 Hz to 60 kHz) and LFO mode (several minutes to 1 kHz).
- Exp/Lin — Selects FM1 input response mode between linear and exponential.
- EXP — LED indicating exponential FM input is active.
- VCO — LED indicating oscillator activity.
- Octave — Switch selecting the octave range of the oscillator.
