The A-101-2 LPG is a vactrol-based Lowpass Gate combining a 12dB low pass filter and VCA, controllable separately or simultaneously. Its vactrols give it an organic, soft character with natural slow response and gentle distortion, inspired by Don Buchla's Module 292. It excels at warm, breathing, percussive textures and plucked sounds with its signature low-distortion character.

- Three selectable modes: Low Pass, Low Pass + VCA, VCA
- Manual mode selection via toggle switch
- Gate-based mode selection via G1 and G2 inputs
- Two CV inputs for frequency/loudness control (CV In 1 unattenuated, CV In 2 with attenuator)
- Manual frequency/loudness control via F/A knob
- Audio input level attenuator
- Resonance control adjustable to self-oscillation
- LED indicator showing current frequency/loudness level (connected in series with internal vactrol LEDs)
- Soft low-distortion sound characteristic of vactrol circuits
- Natural slow response due to LDR characteristics — no fast attacks or FM modulation
- Inspired by Don Buchla's Module 292 Low Pass Gate design

- Resonance — Resonance control, adjustable from subtle coloration to self-oscillation
- Level — Attenuator for audio input level
- CV2 — Attenuator for CV input 2 (frequency/loudness modulation)
- F/A — Manual frequency/loudness control for filter cutoff and amplitude modulation
- Audio In — Audio signal input to be processed by the filter
- CV In 1 — Frequency/loudness control voltage input 1 (no attenuator)
- Audio Out — Filtered and/or amplitude-modulated audio output
- Function — Toggle switch to select function: Low Pass, Low Pass + VCA, or VCA mode
- G1 — Gate input 1 for function control selection
- G2 — Gate input 2 for function control selection
- CV In 2 — input jack
