Doepfer A-106-1 X-treme Filter
Extreme MS20-inspired filter with savage clipping and character
8 HP Eurorack module
The A-106-1 X-treme Filter is a unique voltage-controlled low/high pass filter inspired by the Korg MS20, featuring separate audio inputs for low and high pass with a single output, independent clipping controls, and a resonance insert loop. It is musically wild and unpredictable, capable of extreme distortion, self-oscillation pulses, pseudo band pass and notch responses, and sounds not achievable with any other filter in the A-100 system.
Features
- Separate LP and HP audio inputs with a single audio output
- HP input normalled to LP input when no plug is inserted
- HP Level control operates as a polarizer (add or subtract HP from LP signal)
- 12dB/octave low pass filter slope
- 6dB/octave high pass filter slope
- Pseudo notch filter response via matched LP/HP levels with same polarity
- Pseudo band pass filter response via matched LP/HP levels with opposite polarity
- Independent positive clipping control (CL+)
- Independent negative clipping control (CL-)
- Asymmetrical clipping capability for unique distortion and waveshaping
- Resonance up to self-oscillation
- Self-oscillation generates pulses or sawtooth shapes rather than sine waves
