Doepfer A-110-2 Basic VCO
Compact analog VCO with linear FM, dual sync, and PWM
8 HP Eurorack module
The Doepfer A-110-2 Basic VCO is an 8 HP analog oscillator built around a sawtooth core. It provides sawtooth, pulse, and triangle outputs, calibrated 1V/octave pitch control, exponential and linear FM inputs, hard and soft synchronization, and voltage-controlled pulse width. A three-position octave switch selects the base register, while a rear jumper chooses the Tune knob's overall span.
Features
- Analog sawtooth-core oscillator
- Three simultaneous waveforms: sawtooth, variable-width pulse, and triangle
- Calibrated 1V/octave pitch input
- Separate exponential and linear FM inputs
- Hard-sync and soft-sync inputs
- Manual and voltage-controlled pulse width
- Three-position octave switch
- Rear jumper selects wide or fine Tune range
- 8 HP Eurorack format
Controls & Jacks (15)
- PWM — Attenuates the PWM input before it modulates pulse width.
- Tune — Sets the oscillator frequency within the range selected by the rear tune-range jumper.
- PW — Sets the base pulse width of the pulse waveform.
- XFM — Attenuates the exponential FM input before it is summed into oscillator pitch.
- Linear FM In — Linear frequency-modulation input for changing frequency without exponential pitch scaling.
- 1V/Oct In — Calibrated exponential pitch input following the 1 volt per octave standard.
- Exponential FM In — Exponential frequency-modulation input whose depth is set by the XFM knob.
- Soft Sync In — Soft-sync input that pulls the oscillator into synchronization while retaining a gentler waveform transition.
- Hard Sync In — Hard-sync input that resets the oscillator cycle from an external oscillator waveform.
- Sawtooth Out — Sawtooth waveform output from the oscillator core.
- Range — Three-position octave switch selecting -1, 0, or +1 octave around the base register.
- PWM In — Pulse-width modulation input whose depth is set by the PWM knob.
- Pulse Out — Pulse waveform output shaped by PW and the PWM modulation path.
- Triangle Out — Triangle waveform output derived from the sawtooth oscillator core.
- Sine output — Sine wave output, pure fundamental without harmonics.
