The A-111-5 Mini Synthesizer Voice is a complete monophonic synthesizer in a single Eurorack module, containing a VCO, 24dB low-pass VCF, VCA, two LFOs, and an ADSR envelope generator. It delivers a classic subtractive synthesis voice with deep internal modulation routing, capable of everything from fat sawtooth basses to FM-flavored leads and self-oscillating sine wave tones. The module is the Eurorack incarnation of the standalone Doepfer Dark Energy synthesizer.

- Rectangle wave pulsewidth control with LFO2 or ADSR PWM modulation source
- 24dB low-pass VCF with manual frequency control over approximately 12 octaves (5Hz to 20kHz)
- VCF exponential FM (XM) with LFO2 or ADSR source
- VCF linear FM (LM) from VCO triangle wave for stable FM sounds
- VCF self-oscillation capable; precise 1V/octave tracking for use as sine wave oscillator
- VCF tracking switch: full, half, or no tracking of VCO frequency
- VCA with special exponential-to-linear control scale (-20dB to -80/90dB exponential, -20dB to 0dB linear)
- VCA amplitude modulation with LFO1 or ADSR source
- Two LFOs (LFO1, LFO2) with triangle and rectangle waveforms; three frequency ranges each (low, high, medium)
- LFO frequency ranges overlap; audio-rate FM/PWM/AM effects possible (up to approximately 5kHz)

- VCO Pulsewidth Modulation Level — Adjusts intensity of pulsewidth modulation
- VCA AM Source — Selects amplitude modulation source: LFO1 (upper), off (center), or ADSR (lower)
- VCO FM Source — Selects FM modulation source: LFO1, off, or ADSR
- ADSR LED — Blue LED display indicating envelope state
- VCO Tune — Manual tuning of VCO frequency over roughly one octave (±½ octave), extendable to six octaves via internal jumper JP4
- VCF Resonance — Manual resonance/emphasis control; at maximum position the filter self-oscillates and acts as a sine wave oscillator
- VCA AM Source — Selects amplitude modulation source: LFO1 (upper), off (center), or ADSR (lower)
- External Audio — External audio input mixed into VCF, processed through filter and VCA
- VCO FM Level — Adjusts intensity of VCO frequency modulation with exponential scale for finer control
- VCO F — VCO frequency control input, 1V/octave, works additively with manual tune control and internal modulations
- Audio Out — Audio output of the synthesizer voice, typical output level 1V
- ADSR — ADSR envelope output signal available as additional socket for external modulation
- ADSR Gate — Gate input to trigger ADSR envelope, requires voltage between +5V and +12V
- ADSR Range — Selects ADSR envelope time range: low (~0.1s to 100s), high (~200µs to 0.2s), or medium (~2ms to 2s)
