Doepfer A-152 Voltage Addressed Switch
Eight-way voltage-controlled switch, hold, and gate router
16 HP Eurorack module
The A-152 Voltage Addressed T&H/Switch is a multi-function routing and control voltage processing module combining a bidirectional 1-to-8 multiplexer, an 8-fold Track and Hold, and 8 digital gate outputs into one unit. It can be addressed by control voltage or by a clock/reset binary counter, making it an exceptionally versatile tool for sequential switching, polyphonic CV distribution, graphic waveform synthesis, and rhythmic gate generation. Its musical character ranges from deterministic sequential routing to fluid voltage-controlled scanning across eight lanes.
Features
- 1-to-8 bidirectional multiplexer (electronic rotary switch) with full A-100 voltage range -12V to +12V
- 8-fold Track and Hold: active output tracks input voltage while addressed, holds last voltage when deselected
- 8 digital gate outputs: addressed step outputs approximately +12V, all others are low
- CV addressed mode: sum of Address knob and attenuated CV In selects active step
- Clocked mode: internal binary counter driven by Clock In and Reset In advances steps on positive edges
- Reset In resets binary counter to step 1 on positive edge
- CV control has priority over clock/reset control
- 8 LEDs display currently active step across all three sub-units simultaneously
- Multiplexer is bidirectional: Common socket can be input or output
- T&H section suitable for control voltages only (not audio) due to holding capacitors
- Digital outputs are gate-type: remain high while step is addressed
- Digital output 5 can be patched to Reset In to limit counter to steps 1-4
