Endorphin.es Airstreamer
Three-mode AD/ASR/looping function generator with thru-zero VCA
6 HP Eurorack module
Airstreamer is a fast, full-featured 6HP envelope generator from Endorphin.es with a deceptively rich feature set: three discrete modes (looping LFO/VCO, AD transient, ASR sustained), continuously variable slope shapes that bend each stage from log to linear to exponential without stretching its time, dual unattenuated CV inputs over rise and fall (with one normalled to the other), a thru-zero VCA on the output for sidechain-style inversion, 1V/oct tracking that turns it into a clean audio-rate oscillator, and a multi-function 1V/oct/slew/S&H/T&H input that repurposes itself based on the active mode. End-of-attack triggers and end-of-cycle gates are exposed via a single jumper-selected jack on the back of the panel.
Features
- Three envelope modes: CYCLE (LFO/VCO), TRANSIENT (single-shot AD), HOLD (sustained ASR)
- Independent rise and fall time controls, ~few ms to 10 seconds each
- Continuously variable slope shape per stage, log to linear to exponential, without altering time
- Two unattenuated CV inputs over time (Rise CV, Fall CV), with Rise CV normalled into Fall CV
- When a CV is patched, the matching Shape knob switches role to a bipolar attenuverter
- Built-in thru-zero output VCA controlled by VCA CV In — negative voltage inverts the envelope
- 224 kHz sample rate, low-aliasing CV generation
- Audio-rate cycling lets the module function as a slew-shapeable oscillator
- 1V/oct tracking on Key In (CYCLE mode) — usable as a clean VCO
- Multi-function Key In: 1V/oct in CYCLE, slew/T&H in TRANSIENT, sample-and-hold in HOLD
- Simultaneous bipolar (-5...+5V) and unipolar (0...+5V) outputs
- Selectable end-of-attack trigger / end-of-cycle gate / both via rear PCB jumpers
Controls & Jacks (13)
- Bipolar Out — Bipolar envelope output, swings -5 to +5V; use this for symmetrical pitch tracking when the module is in cycling/audio-rate mode.
- Unipolar Out — Unipolar envelope output, 0 to +5V. Standard envelope output for VCAs and filters.
- Check-In — Gate or trigger input that launches the envelope. Threshold ~0.65V, accepts 0–10V. In looping or transient mode it acts as a reset; in susta
- Trip Select — 3-position toggle that selects the envelope mode: CYCLE (looping LFO/VCO), TRANSIENT (single-shot AD), or HOLD (sustained ASR following the
- End Of Stage(s) — End-of-stage trigger/gate output. Two solder-pad jumpers on the rear of the PCB select between an "end of attack" 10ms trigger, an "end of c
- VCA CV In — Unattenuated CV input for the bipolar (thru-zero) output VCA, range -5V to +5V. Positive voltage scales the envelope; negative voltage inver
- Fall — Sets the fall (decay/release) duration of the envelope. Range from a few ms up to 10 seconds per stage. The "Fall Shape" knob bends this slo
- Rise — Sets the rise (attack) duration of the envelope. Range from a few ms up to 10 seconds per stage. At very short settings combined with a shor
- Fall Shape — Continuously bends the fall slope from log (CCW) through linear (12 o'clock) to exponential (CW), without altering the duration set by the F
- Rise Shape — Continuously bends the rise slope from log (CCW) through linear (12 o'clock) to exponential (CW), without altering the duration set by the R
- Fall CV In — CV input that modulates the fall (decay/release) duration. Once a cable is plugged in, the Fall Shape knob switches role to attenuvert this
- Rise CV In — CV input that modulates the rise (attack) duration. Once a cable is plugged in, the Rise Shape knob switches role to attenuvert this CV. Nor
- Key In — Multi-function 1V/oct CV input, range approximately -5V to +5V, DC-coupled and unattenuated. In CYCLE mode this tracks the cycling envelope
