BLCK_NOIR is a 30HP hybrid analog drum module inspired by the Roland CR-78, featuring 7 drum voices organized into 5 channel groups: bass drum, snare drum, tambourine, closed/open hi-hats, and metallic beat/cymbal. Sound generation uses band-limited digital noise with spectrum animation fed into discrete analog circuits built with inductor coils rather than op-amps. Each voice has individual trigger and velocity inputs, plus an individual output that disconnects from the main mix when patched. The module includes an isolator-style state-variable filter (Throttle/Flaps) on the main outputs and a Cabin Pressure digital effects processor with two banks of 8 effects each (Airways ambient and Darkwaves percussive), upgradeable via audio firmware updates.
