The Queen of Pentacles is a 7-voice hybrid drum synthesizer combining three analog drum voices (bass drum, snare drum, hand clap) with four sample-based voices loaded from microSD, all feeding into a master filter, VCA, and a 16-effect stereo processor. It is specifically tuned for EDM and Techno, delivering punchy, dance-floor-ready percussion with deep CV control, per-voice effect routing, and zero-latency sample playback.
Features
- 7-voice hybrid drum kit: 3 analog voices (BD, SD, CP) + 4 sample-based voices (S1-S4)
- Zero-latency sample playback directly from microSD card (latency under 45-50 microseconds)
- Hybrid analog sound generation: 3x band-limited LSRF binary noise generators with spectrum animation injected into discrete analog circuits
- On-board 16-effect processor in two banks of 8: Airways (ambient) and Darkwaves (drum-oriented)
- Auxiliary input with adjustable level (modular or line level) that can be routed into the effect processor
- Firmware update over audio via AUX IN
- Master isolator-style LP/HP zero-delay feedback state variable filter (Throttle/Flaps)
- VCA with volume knob and CV input; saturator booster above 2 o'clock
- Per-voice enable/mute switches affecting only the final stereo mix outputs
- Separate individual outputs for BD, SD, CP, S1/S2, S3/S4; plugging a cable subtracts that voice from the final mix
- Balanced stereo final outputs (Audio Out 1 and Audio Out 2), approximately modular level +/-5V
- Effect CV scan input: bipolar -5V to +5V scans across all 16 effects
