The Erbe-Verb is a stereo algorithmic reverberator for Eurorack synthesizers, designed by Tom Erbe (Soundhack). It offers an ultra-wide range of virtual space sizes from coffin to cosmic, with fully independent pre-delay, infinite decay, internal modulation, reverse reverb, and a CV output that reflects reverb energy — making it as expressive and performable as any synthesis voice.

- Independent Pre-Delay from 7ms to 500ms, fully decoupled from Size
- Decay from very short to true infinity (full CW)
- Absorb parameter combining Diffusion and Damping in a single bipolar control
- Internal Modulation with Cyclic (chorus/Doppler) and Ergodic (random/granular/shimmer) modes
- Speed control for internal modulation from 1/2 cps to 256 cps (internal) or 1/48 cps to 9000 cps (external clock)
- Reverse reverb with toggle button and momentary gate input
- Pre-Delay and Reverse synchronizable to external clock via Tempo Input with divisions and multipliers
- Tilt EQ as final stage: low gain +12dB to -12dB, high gain -24dB to +24dB
- CV Output: envelope follower of reverb energy, 0V to 10V
- Stereo outputs (Left/Mono and Right)
Controls & Jacks (31)
- Signal Input — AC coupled audio input. Expects standard signal level of 10Vpp.
- Input Level — Controls the input gain level. Unity gain at 3 o'clock position; beyond adds gain and possible clipping.
- Mix CV Input — Unipolar control input for Mix blending. Range 0V to +5V.
- Left (Mono) Output — Left stereo reverb output. Also serves as the mono output when only one output is used.
- Mix — Blends between dry and wet signal. Acts as a CV attenuator when Mix CV Input is patched.
- Right Output — 10Vpp AC coupled output. Right portion of Stereo reverb image.
- Reverse — Visual indication of Reverse engagement. Lights when Reverse is engaged, flickers to indicate Reverse buffer length.
- Reverse Gate Input — Reverses on Gate High. Momentary action. 1.5V trigger signal to operate.
- Size — Sets the virtual room size from coffin (full CCW) to heaven (full CW).
- Speed — Controls the rate of internal modulation. Has no effect when Depth is at noon.
- Pre-Delay — Sets the time before reverb reflections begin. Also sets reverse buffer length when Reverse is active.
- Absorb — Combined control over diffusion and high-frequency damping. CCW is sparse and bright; CW is dense and dark.
- Reverse — Toggles reverse reverb mode on/off. Reverse LED indicates current state.
- Depth — Bipolar modulation control. CCW adds cyclic chorus; CW adds ergodic/granular modulation; full CW engages shimmer.
- Tilt — Spectral tilt EQ. CCW boosts lows and cuts highs; CW boosts highs and cuts lows.
- Decay — Controls reverb tail length via internal feedback. Full CW creates infinite, self-sustaining reverb.
- Size CV Attenuator — Bi-polar attenuator for Size CV Input.
- Tempo Input — Allows synchronization of Pre-Delay and Speed to multiple or division of an external Clock.
- Speed LED — Visual indication of Internal Modulation rate.
- Depth CV Attenuverter — Bi-polar attenuator for Depth CV Input.
- Tilt CV Attenuverter — Bi-polar attenuator for Tilt CV Input.
- Decay CV Attenuverter — Bipolar attenuverter that scales and optionally inverts CV at the Decay CV Input.
- CV Output LED — Visual indication of the CV Output signal level
- CV Output — Envelope follower output reflecting reverb energy level. Range 0V to +10V.
- Size CV Input — Control signal input for Size. Range +/- 5V.
- Speed CV Input — Control signal input for Speed. Range +/- 5V.
- Depth CV Input — Control signal input for Depth. Range +/- 5V.
- Pre-Delay CV Input — Control signal input for Pre-Delay. Range +/- 5V.
- Tilt CV Input — Control signal input for Tilt. Range +/- 5V.
- Absorb CV Input — Control signal input for Absorption. Range +/- 5V.
- Decay CV Input — Control signal input for Decay. Range +/- 5V.
