The Erica Synths Black Modulator V2 is a combined modulation and noise source featuring a dual-range LFO with three simultaneous waveform outputs, a Zener diode-based noise generator delivering white, pink, and crushed noise flavours, and a clockable sample-and-hold circuit. Its character ranges from slow, dreamy modulation to chaotic audio-rate weirdness, with the noise crush section capable of producing everything from dense 1-bit noise to sparse random trigger bursts. Designed for live performance with large knobs and deep patching flexibility, it excels at generative, industrial, and experimental sound design.

Controls & Jacks (16)
- CV Level — Attenuates S&H input level. When nothing is patched in CV IN, adjusts S&H output amplitude from white noise.
- Pink Noise — Pink noise output with integrated filter.
- Noise Crush — Controls crushed noise flavor, fading from 1-bit noise to individual random trigger bursts.
- Rate — Controls LFO and S&H clock frequency. In sync mode, works as frequency divider (÷2, ÷4 counterclockwise) or multiplier (×2, ×4 clockwise).
- CV IN — S&H circuit input for CVs or audio signals. Normalled to white noise output.
- Crushed Noise — Noise crush output, variable from 1-bit to trigger bursts.
- White Noise — Zener diode-based white noise output (10Vptp).
- Triangle — Triangle LFO output (-5V to +5V).
- Sync — External clock input to synchronize LFO frequency.
- Pulse — Pulse LFO output (-5V to +5V).
- S&H — Sample and hold output, up to 20Vptp.
- CLK IN — External S&H clock input. Normalled to LFO if nothing is patched.
- LFO/Audio Range — Selects between LFO mode (0.2Hz - 25Hz) and audio rate mode (18Hz - 750Hz).
- LED — Visual feedback blinks at LFO frequency
- SAWTRI — Sawtooth LFO output (-5V to +5V).
- S&H OUT — Sample and hold output, up to 20Vptp.
