Erica Synths Fusion VCO V2
Digital precision meets vacuum tube warmth and suboscillator power
14 HP Eurorack module
The Erica Synths Fusion VCO is a hybrid digital/analog VCO that combines a digitally-tuned oscillator core with vacuum tube-based suboscillators at -1 and -2 octaves, delivering the tracking accuracy of digital synthesis with the warmth, harmonic richness, and overdrive character of tubes. It features three morphable waveforms, a passive low-pass color filter, extensive sub-mixing with CV control, and an audio input that can route external signals through the tube suboscillator circuit. The result is an extremely fat, harmonically complex bass and lead voice that sits apart from conventional solid-state oscillators.
Features
- Hybrid digital VCO core with vacuum tube suboscillator circuit
- Three base waveforms: Sine, Triangle, Pulse with voltage-controlled morphing via Waveshape knob and Wave CV
- Sine morphs from logarithmic to overdriven sine; Triangle morphs from ramp to sawtooth; Pulse has adjustable PW 5%-95%
- Two vacuum tube based suboscillators: -1 octave and -2 octaves below VCO pitch
- Independent waveshape control for each suboscillator (Subwave1 and Subwave2) from harmonic-rich CW to near-sine CCW
- Sub Mix potentiometer with CV control to blend between -1 and -2 octave suboscillators
- Dry/Wet potentiometer for smooth mix between pure VCO signal and tube suboscillator signal
- Colour potentiometer: passive lowpass filter on Mix Out for extreme subbass and near-sine output; full CCW best at C1 and below
- Good 1V/octave tracking across C1-C8 range
- FM input with dedicated FM Level potentiometer
- Audio input jack: patches external VCO into the suboscillator circuit; automatically disconnects internal VCO when used
- Separate VCO Out (dry, no suboscillators) and Mix Out (master, full tube sound)
