Erica Synths Graphic VCO
Draw, morph, and mangle your own waveforms
16 HP Eurorack module
The Erica Synths Graphic VCO is a versatile oscillator that lets you draw custom waveforms, arrange them into wavetables and wavetable matrix banks, and morph between waveforms in real time. It offers deep sound design capabilities through built-in FX including FM, phase distortion, ring modulation, wavefold, wavewrap, and bitcrush, making it equally suited for lush evolving pads, aggressive digital timbres, and complex spectral textures.
Features
- Draw custom single-cycle waveforms using pen, line, or spectral harmonic methods
- Morph between two independently designed or loaded waveforms (A and B) via knob or CV
- Wavetable mode with banks of 16 waves, automatically interpolated
- Wavetable Matrix mode with configurable grid size and 2D CV navigation
- Seven FX types: FM, Ring Modulation, Phase Distortion, Wavefold, Wavewrap, Bitcrush, Overdrive
- Internal modulation oscillator with waveform selection and sync to main oscillator
- External CV modulation input for FX with oscilloscope monitoring of incoming signal
- Configurable suboscillator on OUT2 with offset (up to -2 octaves), detune (+/-50 cents), and dry/wet mix
- Snapshot system for saving and recalling all settings instantly
- Spectral harmonic editor showing first 32 harmonics
- 96kHz sample rate with 1024-point wave resolution
- Firmware updatable via miniUSB and Google Chrome Erica Synths Updater App
Controls & Jacks (15)
- Tune — Master tuning control. Adjusts VCO frequency from 16Hz to 4kHz, with larger range achievable via CV on 1V/oct input.
- Back — Returns to the menu above. Press and hold for 2 seconds to save a snapshot.
- FX Parameter — Adjusts the FX parameter depending on selected function (e.g., FM frequency). Becomes FX CV attenuator when FX CV is patched. In Wavetable M
- Left — Navigates main functions in menus and accesses primary settings.
- FX Amount — Adjusts the depth of the selected effect manually. Becomes FX Amount CV attenuator when FX AMT CV is patched.
- Morph — Morphs between wave A and wave B manually. Becomes Morph CV attenuator when Morph CV is patched. In Wavetable Matrix mode, morphs through wa
- Main Output — Main audio output of the module with 10Vtp amplitude.
- Right — Navigates secondary functions in menus and accesses secondary settings.
- Suboscillator/Mix Output — Configurable suboscillator output or mix output with adjustable dry/wet level.
- 1V/Oct Input — Pitch control input accepting 0V to +8V for 8 octave tuning.
- FX Amount CV — Unipolar CV input for FX amount control, accepts 0 to +10V.
- Morph CV — Bipolar CV input for morphing control, accepts -10V to +10V. In Wavetable Matrix mode, selects waves in vertical direction.
- FX Parameter CV — Bipolar CV input for FX parameter control, accepts -10V to +10V. In Wavetable Matrix mode, selects waves in horizontal direction.
- LCD Display — Provides visual feedback on main functions and settings of the module.
- FX — Adjusts the FX parameter depending on selected function (e.g., FM frequency). Becomes FX CV attenuator when FX CV is patched. In Wavetable M
