Probabilistic shift register, clock divider & noise source
12 HP Eurorack module
Rung Divisions is a complex poly-rhythmic gate generator built around a universal shift register, a divide-by-n pulse divider, analogue noise, and several logic and binary operations. Designed by Fancyyyyy in collaboration with Rob Hordijk and Ken Stone, it synthesises an array of predictable and unpredictable digital signals at arbitrary time scales. The shift register can shift data in both directions, with voltage control over pattern direction, length, and chance of looping. Built entirely from solid-state discrete logic (no microcontrollers), it operates from DC to 40kHz, making it equally effective as a sophisticated sequencing tool and a complex noise oscillator.
