Future Sound Systems ENV1 Cyclical Function Generator
Dual cyclical function generator with per-stage curves, 3 modes, and EoD/Comp pulse
14 HP Eurorack module
The ENV1 packs two independent Cyclical Function Generators originally engineered for the FSS Cric voice. Each CFG is a full West-coast style function generator: an Attack/Decay slope with independently selectable curve shapes (exponential, linear, logarithmic) per stage, three operating modes (AD one-shot, ASD with held-gate sustain, or free-running loop), a CV input with bipolar attenuverter on each stage time, and a Pulse output switchable between End-of-Decay trigger or 50%-Slope comparator. Stage times sweep from minutes-long swells down through LFO range and into audible kHz oscillation, so the same panel can act as envelope generator, complex LFO, sub-harmonic divider, audio source, monostable, or trigger delay.
Features
- Two fully independent Cyclical Function Generators in 14HP
- Per-stage curve selection (exponential / linear / logarithmic)
- Three operating modes: AD one-shot, ASD held-gate, free-running loop
- Pulse output switchable between End-of-Decay trigger and Comparator gate
- Bipolar CV attenuverters double as fine-tune controls when unpatched
- Time range from minutes-per-cycle envelopes down to kHz audio oscillation
- Loop input doubles as secondary trigger (via rear-panel jumpers)
Controls & Jacks (30)

- CV Depth A 1 — Attenuverter for the A Rate CV input on CFG 1. With no jack patched it becomes a fine-tune for the Attack stage.
- Mode LED 1 — Activity LED for CFG 1 showing the current envelope slope; lights red while the function is running.
- D 1 — Decay time for CFG 1, from kHz oscillation at minimum up to several minutes per cycle at maximum.
- D Shape 1 — Three-position shape selector for CFG 1's Decay stage: exponential / linear (center) / logarithmic.
- Pulse Mode 1 — Selects the source for CFG 1's Pulse jack: End of Decay (brief trigger when Decay completes) or Comparator (gate high while slope is above 5
- CV Depth D 1 — Attenuverter for the D Rate CV input on CFG 1. With no jack patched it becomes a fine-tune for the Decay stage.

- Mode 2 — Three-position mode for CFG 2: loop (free-run as LFO/oscillator), AD (one-shot Attack-Decay envelope), or ASD (Attack-Sustain-Decay while Tr
- CV Depth A 2 — Attenuverter for the A Rate CV input on CFG 2. With no jack patched it becomes a fine-tune for the Attack stage.
- Mode LED 2 — Activity LED for CFG 2 showing the current envelope slope; lights yellow while the function is running.
- D 2 — Decay time for CFG 2, from kHz oscillation at minimum up to several minutes per cycle at maximum.
- D Shape 2 — Three-position shape selector for CFG 2's Decay stage: exponential / linear (center) / logarithmic.

- CV Depth D 2 — Attenuverter for the D Rate CV input on CFG 2. With no jack patched it becomes a fine-tune for the Decay stage.
- Trigger 1 — Trigger / gate input for CFG 1. A trigger fires the AD envelope; a held gate sustains in ASD mode. Threshold +2.5V.
- Function 1 — CFG 1 function output, 0V to +10V. The shaped envelope, LFO, or audio waveform.
- Pulse 1 — CFG 1 pulse output. In End-of-Decay mode a brief trigger fires when Decay completes; in Comparator mode a gate is high while the slope excee

- A Rate 1 — CV input for CFG 1's Attack rate, scaled by the CV Depth A attenuverter.
- D Rate 1 — CV input for CFG 1's Decay rate, scaled by the CV Depth D attenuverter.
- Trigger 2 — Trigger / gate input for CFG 2. A trigger fires the AD envelope; a held gate sustains in ASD mode. Threshold +2.5V.
- Function 2 — CFG 2 function output, 0V to +10V. The shaped envelope, LFO, or audio waveform.
