Hikari Instruments Sine
Pure sine oscillator with VCO, LFO, and CV modes
3 HP Eurorack module
The Hikari SINE is a compact digital sine wave oscillator for Eurorack with three operational modes: VCO, CV offset, and LFO. It produces clean sine waves across a 7-octave range in VCO mode, doubles as a DC offset voltage source in CV mode, and becomes a slow-to-moderate LFO in LFO mode. Its built-in quantize switch and V/OCT input make it immediately musical for melodic and harmonic applications.
Features
- Three operational modes: VCO, CV offset, and LFO via a single mode switch
- Sine wave output at 10Vpp in VCO and LFO modes
- VCO frequency range: 50Hz to 6kHz (7 octaves) via slider
- LFO frequency range: 0.5Hz to 60Hz (1/100 of VCO range) via slider
- CV mode outputs 0-7V DC offset controllable via slider
- Built-in chromatic quantizer switch for pitch-locked VCO output (A=440Hz reference)
- Chromatic quantization in CV mode outputs voltage in 1/12V increments
- V/OCT CV input for external pitch or frequency modulation in VCO and LFO modes
- CV input accepts positive voltages only; negative voltages are ignored without module damage
- 5V input to CV jack raises frequency by 5 octaves
- Audio-rate CV input supported but may produce unexpected results due to digital processing
- Compact 3HP format with 40mm depth
Controls & Jacks (4)
- Out — Sine wave output signal
- Quantize — Enables pitch quantization to semitones
- Frequency — Sets the frequency of the sine wave oscillator. Slider range covers VCO and LFO rates
