Instruo Neoni
Tonal through-zero FM with wavefolding and sync
14 HP Eurorack module
The Instruo neóni is an analogue through-zero FM oscillator with a triangle core, offering both traditional and through-zero linear FM with AC and DC coupled operation. It features nonlinear wavefolding, split sawtooth morphing, precision soft sync, and directional hard sync, producing exceptionally tonal FM sounds with fewer inharmonic sidebands than traditional FM. Its internal modulation routing and LFO mode make it a highly versatile voice in both audio and modulation contexts.

Controls & Jacks (23)
- Coarse — Controls the fundamental frequency of the oscillator. Determines the pitch of all waveforms.
- Fine — Fine control of the oscillator's fundamental frequency relative to the Coarse knob value. Also determines pitch of all waveforms.
- CV Attenuator — Determines the depth of modulation applied to the currently selected CV destination (wavefold or split sawtooth).
- Sawtooth Output — Sawtooth waveform output.
- Split Sawtooth — Controls the waveshaping applied to the Sawtooth Output by offsetting from the split at the centre of the wavelength.
- 1V/Oct Input — Bipolar control voltage input calibrated to 1 volt per Octave for frequency control (musical pitch) from a sequencer or keyboard.
- FM Attenuator — Determines the depth of frequency modulation applied to the fundamental frequency.
- Hard Sync Input — All waveform cycles reset on a hard rising-edge signal.
- Triangle Output — Triangle waveform output.
- Sine Output — Sine waveform output.
- Wavefold Output — Wavefolded waveform output using nonlinear wavefolding on the triangle core.
- CV Input — Bipolar control voltage input that can control either the wavefold amount or the split sawtooth waveshaping based on the CV Destination Swit
- Square Output — Square waveform output.
- Soft Sync Input — Core triangle changes its charge direction on a hard rising edge signal.
- FM Input — Bipolar control voltage input for the frequency parameter. Scaled by the FM Attenuator and summed with Coarse and Fine values.
- Charge Direction — Controls a manual soft synchronization of the core triangle waveform's charge direction.
- Wavefold — Controls the amount of nonlinear wavefolding applied to the core triangle waveform. Folds between 10Vpp range, expandable to approximately 1
- AC/DC Coupled — Toggles the FM Input between AC coupled and DC coupled operation.
- Trad/T.Z. — Switches between traditional FM and through-zero FM operation.
- Hard Sync Direction — Controls the behavior of the Hard Sync Input. Selects polarity reset behavior: centre position uses current charge direction, up position al
- CV Destination — Sets the modulation destination for the CV Input to either wavefold amount (down) or split sawtooth waveshaping (up).
- Signal Router — Routes the signal present at the FM Input to different parts of the circuit. Left: clips positive portion and routes to Hard Sync. Centre: n
- LFO — Enters LFO Mode, turning neóni into a fully-functional low frequency oscillator that forces all waveform outputs to oscillate within subsoni
