Instruo Saïch
Quad analogue chord oscillator with smart VCA mixing
12 HP Eurorack module
The Instruo saïch is a quad analogue oscillator module with super-saw functionality, smart digitally-controlled VCA mixing, intervallic offsets, diatonic chord modes, and sub oscillator capabilities. Its four sawtooth cores can be spread into chords, detuned for lush chorus effects, and mixed through seven distinct profiles, making it a powerful single-module chord and pad voice for subtractive and paraphonic patching.
Features
- Four fully analogue sawtooth oscillator cores
- Super-saw style detuning with individual Detune controls for voices 2, 3, and 4
- Global Coarse and Fine tuning across all voices simultaneously
- Seven mix profiles with digitally controlled analogue VCAs
- Mix Profile Scan via Fader or CTRL CV with attenuverter
- Intervallic Offsets: unison, octave, perfect 4th, perfect 5th combinations across voices
- Global Detune macro spreading voices from unison to full intervallic offset
- Four Sub Modes for voice 1: ascending sawtooth, descending sub sawtooth, sub square with PWM, sub pulse with auto PWM LFO
- PWM CV Input for voice 1 in Sub Modes 3 and 4
- Diatonic Mode for automatic 7th chord voicings in Ionian and Aeolian modes
- Four independent 1V/Oct inputs (voice 1 normals to voices 2-4)
- Bipolar linear and exponential FM Input with attenuator
Controls & Jacks (29)
- Mix Profile Scan (primary function) — Scans through seven mix profiles that shape the relative levels of all four voices, creating evolving chord voicings and timbral blends
- Mix Out — Main audio output carrying the mixed signal from all four oscillator voices as shaped by the current mix profile
- Voice 4 Detune — Individual detune control for voice 4; sets centre frequency offset from voice 1
- Detune — Controls the amount of detuning applied to voices 2-4 relative to voice 1, from unison to lush chorus spread
- Global Coarse — Global coarse frequency tuning control for all voices; used in case calibration procedure
- Voice 2 Fine — Fine-tunes the pitch of voice 2 independently for subtle intervallic or detuning adjustments
- Voice 4 1V/Oct — 1V/octave CV input for voice 4
- Voice 3 Detune — Individual detune control for voice 3; sets centre frequency offset from voice 1
- Voice 2 Detune — Individual detune control for voice 2; sets centre frequency offset from voice 1
- Exp FM — Attenuator for the exponential FM input, controlling the depth of exponential frequency modulation
- Global Fine — Global fine frequency tuning control for all voices; used in case calibration procedure
- Voice 1 or Global 1V/Oct — 1V/Oct pitch input for voice 1; normalled to voices 2-4 when their individual V/Oct jacks are unpatched
- Voice 2 1V/Oct — 1V/octave CV input for voice 2
- Voice 3 1V/Oct — 1V/octave CV input for voice 3
- Sync In — Hard sync input that resets the oscillator phase on each incoming edge for classic sync timbres
- Lin/Exp — Selects between linear and exponential frequency modulation response for the FM input
- PWM CV In — CV input for pulse width modulation, controlling the duty cycle of the pulse waveform output
- FM Attenuator — Attenuator for FM input signal; controls amount of frequency modulation applied to all voices
- Sub Out — Sub-oscillator output one octave below the fundamental, derived from voice 1
- FM Input — Frequency modulation input; modulates pitch of all voices with depth controlled by FM Attenuator
- CTRL Input — Control voltage input for mix profile modulation or voice tuning control
- PWM Input — Pulse width modulation input for voice 1; modulates pulse waveform width
- CTRL Attenuverter — Attenuverter for CTRL input signal, bipolar control of voice tuning during calibration and mix modulation
- Mix Profile — Button to cycle through mix profiles and alternate control modes; also confirms tuning save when pressed with Sub Button
- Sub — Button to select sub oscillator modes and confirm tuning save when pressed with Mix Profile Button
- CTRL — Cycles through secondary fader functions: mix profile scan, intervallic offset, and diatonic chord modes
- Voice Fader 2 — Sets the level or parameter value for voice 2, with function determined by the current CTRL mode
- Voice Fader 1 — Sets the level or parameter value for voice 1, with function determined by the current CTRL mode
- Output — Toggles the output configuration between individual voice outputs and mixed output modes
