Intellijel µMIDI
USB and DIN MIDI to CV in 6 HP, two buttons, no menus.
6 HP Eurorack module
The µMIDI is a 6 HP USB and DIN MIDI to CV interface from Intellijel. The upper half handles clock and transport — a fixed 1/16th clock output plus a divisible CLK with selectable divisions (1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, whole, 24 ppq), and gate-style RUN and RESET outputs that follow the MIDI start/stop/continue and reset messages. The lower half is a complete single-voice MIDI-to-CV interface: 0–10 V 1 V/octave pitch with pitch-bend and portamento support, 0–5 V mod-wheel and CC #2 outputs, 0–5 V velocity, plus separate gate and trigger outputs. Both DIN and USB inputs are merged, channel selection is one-button (LEARN), and settings are saved by holding LEARN.
Features
- USB-B and 5-pin DIN MIDI inputs, merged internally
- Class-compliant USB MIDI (no drivers needed)
- Two clock outputs: fixed 1/16th and selectable division (1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, whole, 24 ppq)
- Run gate output follows MIDI start/continue/stop
- Reset trigger output follows MIDI reset / song-position-zero
- 1 V/octave pitch CV, 0–10 V range, 10 octaves
- Pitch bend summed into the PITCH output
- Portamento via CC 65 / CC 5 / CC 37 (coarse + fine)
- Separate gate and trigger outputs (TRIG retriggers on legato)
- 0–5 V mod-wheel CV (CC 1)
- 0–5 V velocity CV
- 0–5 V auxiliary CC CV (CC 2 / Breath)
Controls & Jacks (20)
- MIDI In — 5-pin DIN MIDI input. Connects to the MIDI Out or MIDI Thru of any MIDI controller, drum machine, synth, or sequencer.
- USB In — USB-B port for class-compliant USB MIDI from a Mac, PC, iPhone, or iPad (with Camera Adapter). No drivers required. Also used for firmware u
- Learn — Red button. Press once to enter MIDI channel learn mode — the next received note sets the listening channel. Hold for ~1 s to save current s
- Division — Blue button (printed ÷). Cycles the CLK output division: 6 (1/16), 12 (1/8), 24 (1/4), 48 (1/2), 96 (whole), 1 (24 ppq), 3 (1/32). Default 6
- 1/16th LED — Yellow LED above the 1/16th jack. Blinks once per fixed 1/16-note clock pulse — useful for visually confirming incoming MIDI clock.
- CLK LED — Yellow LED above the CLK jack. Blinks at the rate set by the Division button — confirms the divided clock is running.
- 1/16th Out — Fixed 16th-note clock output (division 6 of incoming MIDI clock). 5 V trigger pulses, ideal for sequencer clock inputs like Metropolis.
- CLK Out — Divisible MIDI clock output. Division is set by the ÷ button (six divisions plus 24 ppq and 1/32 modes). 5 V trigger pulses.
- Run LED — Red LED above the RUN jack. Lit when the MIDI start/continue is active and unlit when stop is received.
- Reset LED — Red LED above the RESET jack. Briefly flashes when a MIDI reset (or song-position-zero) message is received.
- Run Out — Gate output. Goes high (5 V) on MIDI start or continue, low on MIDI stop. Pair with sequencer run inputs to start/stop external sequencers i
- Reset Out — Trigger output. Sends a 5 V pulse when a MIDI reset (or song-position-zero) message is received. Use to reset Eurorack sequencers in tandem
- Pitch Out — 1 V/octave pitch CV with a 0–10 V range. MIDI note 0 (C-2) maps to 0 V; note 120 (C8) maps to 10 V. Tracks pitch bend and supports portament
- Mod Out — 0–5 V CV proportional to the MIDI mod wheel (CC 1). Patch into a VCA modulation depth or any CV input that wants 0–5 V.
- Vel Out — 0–5 V CV proportional to the velocity of the most recently played MIDI note. Suitable for the LEVEL/VCA input of an envelope generator (e.g.
- CC Out — 0–5 V CV proportional to MIDI CC #2 (Breath Controller). Use for an extra automation lane from a DAW or controller.
- Gate LED — Green LED above the GATE jack. Lit while a MIDI note is being held — confirms note-on/off activity.
- Trig LED — Green LED above the TRIG jack. Briefly flashes on every MIDI note-on — useful for visualizing triggers.
- Gate Out — Gate output. High (5 V) while any MIDI note is being held; low when all notes are released. Patch into the GATE input of an envelope generat
- Trig Out — Trigger output. Fires a short 5 V pulse on every MIDI note-on (re-fires on legato notes). Patch into envelope TRIG inputs to retrigger on ev
