Joranalogue Compare 2
Dual window comparator for gates, pulses, and logic
8 HP Eurorack module
Compare 2 is a dual window comparator module that detects whether an input voltage falls within a defined voltage range ('window'), outputting gates and pulses accordingly. It combines two independent comparators with a logic section, making it a versatile tool for extracting rhythmic gates from LFOs, generating pulse waveforms from audio, frequency multiplication, and complex logic operations. Its musical character is highly dynamic and generative, capable of transforming any continuous voltage into structured rhythmic or tonal events.
Features
- Dual independent window comparators in 8HP
- Shift knob offsets window centre from -5V to +5V per comparator
- Size knob controls window width from a few mV up to 10V per comparator
- CV inputs for both Shift and Size parameters per comparator
- Left comparator Shift and Size CVs normalled to right comparator
- Signal input normalled from left comparator to right comparator
- Three-colour (blue/white/red) comparator status LEDs per comparator
- Complementary OUT and NOT gate outputs per comparator (+5V active, 0V inactive)
- Logic section with AND, OR, XOR, and flip-flop (FF) outputs
- XOR rising edges toggle the flip-flop output
- Logic section LEDs for AND, OR, XOR, and FF outputs
- Processes both CV and audio-rate signals
