Joranalogue Walk 4

Quad Brownian Accumulator

10 HP Eurorack module

A quad analogue voltage accumulator: four trigger-driven accumulators, a clock generator, independent white-noise sources, and auto reset create stepped CV, random walks, subharmonics, or audio-rate signals.

Features

  • Integrated wide-range clock trigger generator with 1 volt per octave tracking.
  • Four independent white-noise generators provide adjustable volatility.
  • The Add Input continuously offsets all accumulator outputs.
  • Front-panel-accessible trim potentiometers support calibration.

Controls & Jacks (37)

  • Rate— Sets the internal clock frequency: 5.5 mHz to 180 Hz in low mode, or 22 Hz to 22 kHz in audio mode.
  • Volatility— Sets the amount of independently sampled white noise added to each accumulator at every trigger.
  • Constrain— Sets the shared feedback-based limiting action that keeps accumulator voltages within a controllable range around 0 V.
  • Trend— Sets the shared 0 V to +5 V static increment added to all accumulators.
  • Accumulator 1 Output— Voltage output of accumulator 1.
  • Constrain CV Input— CV input for the shared constrain parameter, extending its range beyond the knob settings.
  • Reset Activity— Flashes briefly to indicate an external reset event.
  • Accumulator 1 Value Input— External voltage added to accumulator 1's increment at each trigger.
  • Accumulator 3 Value Input— External voltage added to accumulator 3's increment at each trigger.
  • Accumulator 2 Output— Voltage output of accumulator 2.
  • Rate CV Input— Exponential CV input for the internal clock rate; tracks 1 V/octave in audio mode and approximately 0.6 V/octave in low mode.
  • Trend CV Input— CV input for the shared trend parameter; negative voltages can produce downward trends.
  • Accumulator 2 Value Input— External voltage added to accumulator 2's increment at each trigger.
  • Accumulator 3 Output— Voltage output of accumulator 3.
  • Accumulator 4 Value Input— External voltage added to accumulator 4's increment at each trigger.
  • Reset Input— Rising-edge input that resets all accumulators and the oscillator to 0 V.
  • Accumulator 4 Output— Voltage output of accumulator 4.
  • Accumulator 3 Trigger Input— Rising-edge trigger input for accumulator 3; normalled from accumulator 2's trigger signal when unpatched.
  • Volatility CV Input— CV input for the shared volatility parameter.
  • Accumulator 4 Trigger Input— Rising-edge trigger input for accumulator 4; normalled from accumulator 3's trigger signal when unpatched.
  • Add Input— Continuously adds an external voltage to all four accumulator outputs, independently of triggering and auto reset.
  • Accumulator 1 Trigger Input— Rising-edge trigger input for accumulator 1; normalled to the internal clock when unpatched.
  • Accumulator 2 Trigger Input— Rising-edge trigger input for accumulator 2; normalled from accumulator 1's trigger signal when unpatched.
  • Clock Output— Internal clock generator output, producing +5 V trigger pulses; above 500 Hz it transitions toward a square wave.
  • Accumulator 1 Output Level— Bi-colour indicator of accumulator 1's real-time output voltage: red for positive and blue for negative.
  • Accumulator 3 Output Level— Bi-colour indicator of accumulator 3's real-time output voltage: red for positive and blue for negative.
  • Low/Audio— Selects the internal clock generator's low-frequency (VCLFO) or audio-frequency (VCO) operating range.
  • Accumulator 2 Output Level— Bi-colour indicator of accumulator 2's real-time output voltage: red for positive and blue for negative.
  • Add Input Level— Bi-colour indicator of the Add input voltage: red for positive and blue for negative.
  • Clock Activity— Flashes for each pulse from the internal clock generator.
  • Auto Reset— Enables automatic resetting of each accumulator to 0 V when its stored value exceeds ±10 V; when disabled, accumulators can saturate near ±1
  • Accumulator 4 Output Level— Bi-colour indicator of accumulator 4's real-time output voltage: red for positive and blue for negative.
  • Accumulator 2 Gain Trimmer— Front-panel calibration trimmer for accumulator 2 voltage gain.
  • Volt per Octave Trimmer— Front-panel calibration trimmer for the clock oscillator's 1 V/octave pitch tracking.
  • Accumulator 1 Gain Trimmer— Front-panel calibration trimmer for accumulator 1 voltage gain.
  • Accumulator 3 Gain Trimmer— Front-panel calibration trimmer for accumulator 3 voltage gain.
  • Accumulator 4 Gain Trimmer— Front-panel calibration trimmer for accumulator 4 voltage gain.
