Mutable Instruments Kinks
Rectify, compare, and sample your signals
4 HP Eurorack module
Kinks is a compact 4HP utility module offering three analog signal processing functions: a precision inverter with half and full wave rectifiers, analog logic gates (OR/AND as max/min), and a sample and hold with built-in white noise. Its musical character is subtle but transformative, turning ordinary LFOs and CVs into new shapes, hybrid timbres, and unpredictable stepped sequences.
Features
- Precision signal inverter with half-wave and full-wave rectifier outputs
- Analog OR gate outputs maximum of two input signals — works on audio, CV, gates, and LFOs
- Analog AND gate outputs minimum of two input signals — useful for gating and muting
- Classic sample and hold circuit with edge-detector trigger input
- S&H IN normalized to internal white noise generator when unpatched
- Dedicated white noise output jack always available
- All inputs DC-coupled and audio-rate capable
- Droop rate under 0.8mV per second for accurate S&H holds
- Noise output flat from 10Hz to 30kHz with standard deviation of 1.8V
