Klavis Grainity
Analog granular filter that grows harmonics from your signal
10 HP Eurorack module
The Grainity is a digitally-controlled, fully analog granular and multimode VCF that cycles through predefined filter and phase combinations in sync with the incoming audio signal's zero-crossings, creating subharmonics, harmonies, unison, flanging, and formant filtering simultaneously. It features two parallel filter paths — a unique granular VCF and a conventional multimode VCF — each with dedicated outputs plus a mixed output, offering an unprecedented palette of harmonic expansion and spectral manipulation from a purely analog audio path.
Features
- Unique granular VCF concept based on cycling through filter/phase structures in sync with audio zero-crossings
- 100% analog audio signal path from input to output
- Two simultaneous filter sections: Granular VCF and Multimode VCF with separate outputs
- Mix output with knob and CV blending both filter sections
- Phase inversion switching between the two filter sections
- Shared frequency (F fader, V/Oct, FM) and resonance (Q) controls for both sections
- Multimode VCF with LP2, LP4, HP, BP, BR, and IN (bypass) types
- Self-resonance capability on the multimode VCF
- Granular VCF structures: pre-programmed 2 to 8-step loops plus random structures
- Division control (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128) to extend grain length
- Phase mode: delays granular cycling trigger within each audio cycle
- Track mode: musically detunes detected pitch to set cycling rate (x1 to x2.01)
