Klavis Logica XT
Voltage-controlled 14-mode logic and gate processor in 5HP
5 HP Eurorack module
The Klavis Logica XT is a voltage-controlled multiple-input logic and gate processor packed into 5HP. It combines three normalized inputs and a manual push button to perform 14 different operations split between simple combinatorial logic (OR, XOR, Even/Odd, 1-High, 1-Low, AND, plus forced ON/OFF states) and advanced state-based logic (Gater, Gate-to-Trigger, sequence validation, weighted Coin, Set/Reset+Clock flip-flop, Digital Sample & Hold with delay line up to 5 seconds). All outputs come simultaneously as Out, Inv (inverted), and Div/2 (divide-by-two), and a bipolar CV input scans through simple-logic modes. Settings persist across power cycles.
Features
- 14 modes of operation in 5HP
- 6 simple (combinatorial) logic functions: OR, XOR, Even, 1-High, 1-Low, AND
- 2 forced output states (ON, OFF)
- 6 advanced (state-based) logic functions: Gater, Gt~Tr, 1,2,3 sequence, Coin, S/R+C, D.S&H
- Three normalized input jacks plus user-defined Manual button (4-input logic)
- Simultaneous Out and Inv outputs (e.g. AND/NAND, OR/NOR, XOR/XNOR)
- Dedicated Div/2 output for clock division and sub-octaves
- Bipolar CV input for sequencing through simple-logic modes
- LED column shows current operation mode at a glance
- LEDs on every output indicate logic state
- Settings stored in non-volatile memory and recalled on power-up
- Adjustable retrigger gap time in Gater mode (1ms–1s)
Controls & Jacks (21)
- On LED — Lit when the topmost mode (forced ON state) is selected. With this row lit, the main output is forced high regardless of inputs.
- Or LED — Lit when the OR mode is selected (simple-logic column) or Gater mode (advanced column).
- Xor LED — Lit when the XOR mode is selected (simple) or Gt~Tr mode (advanced).
- Even LED — Lit when the Even mode is selected (simple) or 1,2,3 sequence-validation mode (advanced).
- 1 High LED — Lit when the 1 High mode is selected (simple) or Coin mode (advanced).
- 1 Low LED — Lit when the 1 Low mode is selected (simple) or S/R+C flip-flop mode (advanced).
- And LED — Lit when the AND mode is selected (simple) or D.S&H digital sample-and-hold mode (advanced).
- Mode — Continuous knob that selects one of the 8 logic functions in the currently active column. Sums with the CV input. Acts as a delay/duration a
- Manual — Push button that acts as a fourth logic input. The default state (high or low) depends on the selected mode and is user-editable for simple-
- CV In — Bipolar CV input (-5V to +5V) summed with the Mode knob to select a logic function. Disabled when an advanced mode is active or when editing
- In 1 — First logic input. Accepts gates, triggers, clocks, audio or any signal -12V to +12V. Threshold ~3.5V (rising) / 2.8V (falling). Normalized
- In 2 — Second logic input. In simple-logic modes works identically to In 1 with normalization. In Set/Reset+Clock mode this is the Set input; in D.
- In 3 — Third logic input. In simple-logic modes works identically to In 1 with normalization. In Set/Reset+Clock mode this is the Reset input; in D
- Out LED — Lit when the main Out jack is at logic 1 (high).
- Out — Main output jack carrying the result of the currently selected logic function. 0V/5V logic levels.
- Inv LED — Lit when the Inv jack is at logic 1 (high) — the inverted Out signal.
- Inv — Inverted output: provides the opposite state of the main Out jack. With AND on Out, this gives NAND. Useful for negative logic.
- Div/2 LED — Lit when the Div/2 jack is at logic 1.
- Div/2 — Division-by-two output: toggles state every off-to-on transition of the main Out. Use as clock divider or sub-octave generator on audio sign
- Xtra — Dual-purpose button. Short press toggles between simple and advanced logic columns. Hold to enter editing mode for the current function (whe
- Manual LED — Indicates the current state of the Manual push button (lit = logic 1). Also flashes during editing of advanced logic functions.
