The DXG (Dual Stereo Gate) is a dual stereo low pass gate and mixer featuring a new 100% analog vactrolless circuit that emulates the slow decay and timbral memory of classic vactrol-based LPGs. Each channel simultaneously controls amplitude and frequency content, producing acoustic-like attack and decay transients reminiscent of struck drums, piano strings, or xylophone bars. It is designed around stereo signal processing, making it an ideal companion for stereo modules like XPO, QPAS, Morphagene, and Mimeophon.
Features
- Dual stereo low pass gate channels, each controlling both amplitude and frequency simultaneously
- New 100% analog vactrolless LPG circuit emulating vactrol slow decay and memory
- Stereo inputs with Left/Mono normalization — patching only Left sends signal to both Left and Right outputs
- STRIKE input per channel for percussive triggering without a separate envelope generator — responds dynamically to 5V, 8V, or 10V gates
- CTRL input per channel normalled to +8V, range 0-8V
- CTRL Combo Pot acts as CV attenuator when CTRL Input is patched
- Channel 2 has dedicated individual Left and Right outputs for parallel processing
- Stereo Auxiliary Input with Left/Mono normalization, passes to Sum outputs at near unity
- All three channels (Ch1, Ch2, Aux) summed to stereo Sum outputs
- Aux inputs enable chaining with additional DXG, X-PAN, Optomix, or other mix modules
- CTRL parameter extends past typical LPG range for higher frequencies and sharper transients
- Ring time subtly changes with modulation frequency for note articulation at fast gate rates

- Ch1 CTRL Input — Control Voltage input for Channel 1 CTRL parameter. Accepts 0-8V range. Normalled to +8V.
- Ch1 Left Input 1 — Stereo signal input for Channel 2 Low Pass Gate. Accepts 10V peak-to-peak modular level signals. Use alone for mono operation.
- Ch1 Right Input — Control Voltage input for Channel 2 CTRL parameter. Accepts 0-8V range. Normalled to +8V.
- Ch2 Strike Input — output gate
- Ch2 Left Input — Individual left channel output for Channel 2 Low Pass Gate.
- Ch2 Right Input — Stereo signal input for Channel 2 Low Pass Gate. Accepts 10V peak-to-peak modular level signals.
- Ch2 CTRL — Gate input for striking the Channel 2 Low Pass Gate. Reacts to 5V, 8V, or 10V gates.
