Make Noise LxD
Dual vactrol low pass gate with acoustic soul
4 HP Eurorack module
The LxD is a dual-channel, vactrol-based Low Pass Gate that simultaneously controls amplitude and frequency content, functioning as a VCFA (Voltage Controlled Filter Amplifier). CH1 offers a mildly-resonant 12dB/octave response while CH2 offers a non-resonant 6dB/octave response, with CH1 output normalled to CH2 input for classic VCF-into-VCA series processing. Its vactrol heart gives it an organic, natural-sounding character ideal for percussive plucks, rings, and acoustic-like transients.
Features
- Dual-channel vactrol-based Low Pass Gate
- CH1: 12dB/octave mildly-resonant low pass filter response
- CH2: 6dB/octave non-resonant low pass filter response
- Simultaneous amplitude and frequency control via single CV input per channel
- CH1 output normalled to CH2 input for series VCF-into-VCA operation
- Strike input per channel for pinging, plucking, and percussive triggering
- Direct-coupled signal path throughout
- Signal inputs accept audio or control voltages up to 15Vpp
- Outputs up to 10Vpp depending on source and settings
- CV input range 0V to 8V per channel
- Strike inputs expect 8V to 10V gate or clock signals
- Extremely low noise and low distortion
