Maneco Labs Grone Wave
Lo-fi sample textures and accidents.
26 HP Eurorack module
Grone Wave combines a lo-fi sample player, resonant low-pass filter and LFO with a Clouds-based effects section running Parasites firmware.
Features
- Lo-fi 8-bit sample player with four banks of up to 16 samples.
- Sample audio feeds a resonant transistor-ladder low-pass filter with multi-waveform LFO modulation.
- Clouds-based effects section with Parasites firmware.
Controls & Jacks (43)
- Filter Modulation— Sets the amount of internal LFO modulation applied to the filter cutoff.
- Sample Rate CV— CV input for sample playback rate and therefore pitch.
- Sample Trigger— External gate, clock, or trigger input that retriggers the current sample.
- LFO Output— Output of the multi-waveform LFO.
- Filter Input— Audio input to the transistor-ladder low-pass filter from an external source.
- Filter CV— Cutoff-frequency CV input for the low-pass filter.
- Trigger— Trigger input that explicitly starts a new grain; it also serves as the timing input in clock-synchronised Parasites modes.
- Sample Level— Sets the sample player's output level sent to the filter.
- Audio Output Right— Right audio output from the Clouds processor.
- Display Parameter— Selects the parameter shown by the Clouds display.
- Filter Output— Audio output of the low-pass filter.
- Freeze Indicator— Illuminates to show that Freeze is active; it flashes when Parasites reverse playback is enabled.
- Audio Output Left— Left audio output from the Clouds processor.
- V/Oct— 1 V/octave pitch CV input for grain transposition and applicable Parasites modes.
- Load/Save— Accesses Clouds buffer loading and saving.
- Size— Sets grain duration.
- Sample Output— Output for the sample player's audio.
- Reverb— Dedicated control for reverb amount.
- Clouds Display Right— Part of the four-LED Clouds status display used for parameter, quality and memory state.
- LFO Rate— Sets LFO speed.
- Resonance— Sets filter resonance; high settings can self-oscillate.
- Sample Bank Upper— Works with Sample Bank Lower to select one of four sample banks.
- Density— Sets grain rate and overlap; clockwise produces randomly timed grains and counter-clockwise produces regularly timed grains.
- FX Input— Audio input for the Clouds effects section.
- Freeze— Latches Clouds Freeze state, stopping recording into the audio buffer while grains continue to use the captured audio.
- Sample Select— Selects one of 16 samples in the selected sample bank.
- Pan— Dedicated control for stereo panning or spread.
- Pitch— Sets grain transposition; noon is untransposed playback.
- Clouds Display Mid Right— Part of the four-LED Clouds status display used for parameter, quality and memory state.
- Sample Start— Sets the start point of the currently playing sample.
- Position— Selects the point in the recording buffer from which grains are read.
- Reverse— Plays the current sample backwards while held.
- Input Gain— Sets Clouds audio-input gain from -18 dB to +6 dB.
- Clouds Display Left— Part of the four-LED Clouds status display used for parameter, quality and memory state.
- Sample Bank Lower— Works with Sample Bank Upper to select one of four sample banks.
- Clouds Display Mid Left— Part of the four-LED Clouds status display used for parameter, quality and memory state.
- Filter Cutoff— Sets the low-pass filter cutoff frequency.
- Sample End— Sets the end point of the currently playing sample.
- Sample Rate— Continuously controls sample playback rate over a wide pitch range.
- Feedback— Dedicated control for Clouds feedback amount.
- LFO Wave— Selects one of eight LFO waveforms: rising ramp, falling ramp, square, triangle, sine, sweep, random levels, or random slopes.
- Blend— Dedicated dry/wet mix knob; the module has separate Pan, Feedback and Reverb controls.
- Texture— Morphs the grain envelope and introduces diffusion at high settings.
