Mangrove is a formant oscillator that captures the essence of acoustic instruments through spectral shaping rather than traditional waveforms. It generates complex timbres using formant filtering and creates rich harmonic content through frequency modulation and cross-modulation with other Mangrove units.

Controls & Jacks (18)
- Pitch — Coarse pitch control. Sets the base frequency of the oscillator across a wide range.
- Barrel — Waveshaping control that morphs the oscillator timbre. Adjusts the balance between harmonics, creating vowel-like formant shifts.
- Air — Modulates the pressure and timbre of the sound
- 1V/Oct — Primary 1 volt per octave pitch input. Connect a sequencer or keyboard CV for chromatic pitch tracking.
- Formant — Controls the timbral structure and spectral characteristics of the oscillator
- Fine — Fine pitch adjustment for precise tuning. Allows subtle detuning or exact interval setting.
- V/Oct — Secondary volt-per-octave pitch input. Can be used alongside the primary 1V/Oct input for transposition.
- FM In — Frequency modulation input. Accepts audio or CV signals to modulate the oscillator pitch for FM synthesis tones.
- Formant Out — Controls the timbral structure and spectral characteristics of the oscillator
- Ramp — Controls ramp waveshape symmetry
- Air CV In — Modulates the pressure and timbre of the sound
- Formant CV In — Controls the timbral structure and spectral characteristics of the oscillator
- Square Out — Square wave output. Produces a harmonically rich square wave shaped by the Barrel and Air controls.
- Sync — Hard sync input. Resets the oscillator phase on each incoming trigger, locking pitch to an external oscillator.
- Barrel CV In — CV input for the Barrel waveshaping parameter. Modulates timbre dynamically with external CV.
- Constant — Selects between formant tracking modes. Changes how the formant frequency relates to the oscillator pitch.
- Formant LED — Indicates formant output activity
- Formant Button — Toggles the formant behavior mode. Switches between different formant frequency relationships.
