Stereo Crossmod VCF
12 HP Eurorack module
Deuxd is a 12HP dual/stereo OTA-style Eurorack VCF with independently selectable lowpass or highpass responses, a shared cutoff system, internal audio-rate modulation, and bidirectional cross-modulation.
Features
- Two fully featured filters support dual or stereo processing in 12HP.
- Dual OTA-style filter cores with independently selectable lowpass and highpass responses.
- Global Cutoff controls both filters while the channel cutoff controls provide offsets.
- Sync moves both cutoffs in parallel; Oppose moves Channel 2 inversely to Channel 1.
- SUM Output combines both filters in mono and offers two diode-clipping saturation paths.
- Channel 1 Audio Input is normalized to Channel 2 Audio Input for dual processing of one signal.
- Each channel FM input normally receives the opposite channel's audio input for pre-filter audio-rate modulation; patching an FM input breaks that normalization.
- X-MOD applies simultaneous bidirectional post-filter cutoff modulation, with greater depth at higher resonance settings.
Controls & Jacks (23)
- Channel 1 Cutoff— Sets Filter 1's cutoff as an offset from the Global Cutoff control; with Global Cutoff at noon, it provides the full cutoff sweep.
- Channel 2 Cutoff— Sets Filter 2's cutoff as an offset from the Global Cutoff control; with Global Cutoff at noon, it provides the full cutoff sweep.
- Global Cutoff— Sets the shared cutoff position for both filters; the Sync/Oppose switch determines whether their cutoffs move together or in opposite direc
- Channel 1 Audio Input— Audio input to Filter 1; the incoming signal is also normalized to Filter 2 Audio Input and Filter 2 FM Input when those destinations are un
- Channel 2 Audio Input— Audio input to Filter 2; its signal is also normalized to Filter 1 FM Input when that input is unpatched.
- Channel 2 FM Input— Frequency-modulation input for Filter 2; its level is set by the Filter 2 FM Attenuator.
- Channel 2 VCF Output— Individual audio output from Filter 2.
- Channel 1 Cutoff CV Input— Unattenuated control-voltage input that modulates Filter 1 cutoff independently of the global cutoff input.
- X-MOD— Simultaneously feeds Filter 1's output to Filter 2's cutoff and Filter 2's output to Filter 1's cutoff, increasing both cross-modulation pat
- Channel 2 Cutoff CV Input— Unattenuated control-voltage input that modulates Filter 2 cutoff independently of the global cutoff input.
- Channel 1 Resonance— Controls Filter 1 resonance; self-oscillation begins at approximately the 10 o'clock position and higher settings deepen cross-modulation ef
- Global Cutoff CV Input— Control-voltage input for the shared cutoff control, affecting both filters according to the Sync/Oppose switch.
- Channel 1 VCF Output— Individual audio output from Filter 1.
- SUM Output— Mono audio output containing the summed outputs of both filters, processed by the selected distortion circuit.
- Channel 1 FM Input— Frequency-modulation input for Filter 1; its level is set by the Filter 1 FM Attenuator.
- Channel 2 Resonance— Controls Filter 2 resonance; self-oscillation begins at approximately the 10 o'clock position and higher settings deepen cross-modulation ef
- Sync/Oppose— In Sync, Global Cutoff and its CV move both filters in parallel; in Oppose, Filter 2 moves inversely to Filter 1.
- Channel 2 LP/HP— Selects lowpass or highpass response for Filter 2.
- Channel 2 FM Amount— Attenuates the signal applied through Filter 2 FM Input.
- Channel 1 LP/HP— Selects lowpass or highpass response for Filter 1.
- SUM Distortion— Selects between two diode-clipping paths that give the SUM output different flavors of harmonic saturation.
- Channel 1 FM Amount— Attenuates the signal applied through Filter 1 FM Input.
- Global Cutoff CV Amount— Attenuates control voltage patched into Global Cutoff CV Input.
