Modulaire Maritime arhiv
2HP CV recorder / player with LOOP, ONE-SHOT and clocked-sequence modes
2 HP Eurorack module
Modulaire Maritime arhiv is a 2HP CV recorder / player designed to capture and replay control voltages — knob gestures, LFO shapes, envelope curves, sequencer outputs, or any other CV in the system. Think of it as a tape recorder for movement: record a hand gesture and turn it into a repeatable modulation, or capture a sequencer's output and play it back at a different tempo. Up to 70 minutes of recording is stored in onboard flash and reloaded automatically on power-up. Two playback modes — LOOP (continuous 500 Hz capture and endless loop) and ONE-SHOT (clocked step-sequencer mode plus single-pass non-clocked playback) — give the module a split personality between expressive modulation looper and step sequencer. Output is selectable between unipolar (0 to +5V) and bipolar (~-5V to +5V) to suit either positive-only sources like envelopes/pitch or bipolar sources like LFOs.
Features
- Up to 70 minutes of CV recording stored in onboard flash
- Last recording survives power cycle — auto-reloaded on boot
- LOOP mode: 500 Hz continuous capture, endless playback loop
- ONE-SHOT mode: clocked step sequencer or single-pass playback
- Variable playback speed 0.25x to 4x with reverse beyond ~85% knob travel
- CV-controllable playback speed via CV IN summed with MOD knob
- Gate-dependent playback in LOOP mode: gate high = run, gate low = hold
- Records the clock alongside CV for synchronised step-sequence playback
- Unipolar (0 to +5V) or bipolar (~-5V to +5V) output selectable
- Real-time monitoring on CV OUT while recording
- Arm-on-clock recording in ONE-SHOT mode for perfect grid alignment
- USB-C firmware update via UF2 drag-and-drop
Controls & Jacks (10)
- TRIG/CLK — Trigger / clock / gate input. Behaviour depends on the active mode and whether the module is recording or playing back: in LOOP record it is
- PLAY — Starts and stops playback (short press) and toggles between LOOP and ONE-SHOT modes (long press, more than one second). A short press turns
- PLAY LED — Green play status LED. Solid green during continuous playback; blinking green when ONE-SHOT step playback is running off the external clock.
- MOD — Dual-purpose potentiometer. During recording with the source switch set to KNOB, the knob position itself is the signal that gets recorded —
- RECORD LED — Red record status LED. Blinks red while a recording is actively in progress. In ONE-SHOT mode with a clock present, the LED turns solid red
- RECORD — Starts and stops recording. A short press begins recording — the red LED blinks and whatever the module captures is sent simultaneously to C
- CV/KNOB — Selects the recording source. In the KNOB position the potentiometer is recorded — its physical movement is what gets captured. In the CV po
- OUT POL — Selects the CV OUT voltage range. BI (up) outputs bipolar voltage from approximately -5V to +5V — required for signals that cross zero such
- CV IN — External CV input. During recording with the source switch on CV, this signal is digitised and stored. During playback, any signal present h
- CV OUT — Main CV output. Mirrors what is being captured in real time during recording (live monitoring) and reproduces the stored recording during pl
How-To Guides
- Capture a knob gesture as a looped modulation
- Record an LFO and play it back at a different speed
- Build a step sequence with the clock and the MOD knob
- Rhythmic 'freeze' effects using TRIG/CLK as a gate in LOOP mode
- Generate bespoke bipolar modulation for FM or panning
