The Sample and Hold module captures an instantaneous voltage from its signal input each time it receives a trigger, then holds that voltage at its output until the next trigger arrives. Musically, it excels at generating stepped, random melodic patterns when fed noise, or rhythmically quantized control voltages when driven by an oscillator or sequencer. It is a classic generative and modulation tool central to unpredictable, evolving patches.

Controls & Jacks (13)
- Clock Rate — Sets the internal clock frequency (0.3–30 Hz) for sampling when using internal clock mode
- Clock LED — Green LED that blinks in time with the internal or external clock
- V-TRIG — Voltage trigger input for externally clocking the sample and hold
- Int/Ext — Selects between internal clock (Clock Rate knob) and external trigger input
- Pulse — Pulse output synchronized with the sample clock
- S-TRIG In — S-trigger (short-trigger) input for legacy Moog trigger format
- S-TRIG Out — S-trigger (short-trigger) output for legacy Moog trigger format
- TRI — Triangle wave output from the internal clock oscillator
- Glide On/Off — Enables or disables the glide (portamento) circuit on the output
- Glide — Sets the glide/portamento time (msec to sec range) for smooth transitions between sampled values
- X-1 — Signal input (unity gain) to be sampled and held
- X-3 — Signal input with 3x gain amplification before sampling
- Out — Main output of the sampled and held voltage, with optional glide applied
