Music Thing Modular Workshop Computer

A simple but capable music computer

8 HP Eurorack module

A card-programmable music computer for audio effects, sequencing, and USB-connected devices.

Features

  • Uses custom Program Cards to load its operating program.
  • Provides paired Audio/CV, precision pitch-CV, and pulse inputs and outputs.
  • Supports audio effects, sequencing, and USB-connected devices through the loaded card.

Controls & Jacks (23)

  • Y— Assignable Y knob; the loaded Program Card determines its function, such as Channel 2 Diviply or reverb tone.
  • Audio/CV Out 1— DC-coupled audio/CV output 1; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • X— Assignable X knob; the loaded Program Card determines its function, such as loop length or reverb decay.
  • Audio/CV Out 2— DC-coupled audio/CV output 2; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • Audio/CV In 1— DC-coupled audio/CV input; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • CV In 2— Precision control-voltage input 2; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • CV In 1— Precision control-voltage input 1; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • Pulse In 1— Pulse/clock input 1; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • Audio/CV In 2— DC-coupled audio/CV input; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • Pulse Out 1— Pulse output 1; its gate, trigger, clock, or card-defined behavior is set by the loaded Program Card.
  • Pulse In 2— Pulse/clock input 2; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • CV Out 2— Precision control-voltage output 2; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • Z— Three-position assignable switch. Its behavior is defined by the loaded Program Card; for example, Turing Machine selects presets or taps te
  • CV Out 1— Precision control-voltage output 1; its function is defined by the loaded Program Card.
  • Main— Primary assignable knob; the loaded Program Card determines its function, such as Random/Loop for Turing Machine or wet/dry for Reverb+.
  • Pulse Out 2— Pulse output 2; its gate, trigger, clock, or card-defined behavior is set by the loaded Program Card.
  • LED 2— Card-defined status LED 2; for example, it indicates Channel 2 CV level with the Turing Machine card.
  • Reset/Load— Loads/restarts the inserted Program Card.
  • LED 1— Card-defined status LED 1; for example, it indicates Channel 1 CV level with the Turing Machine card.
  • LED 3— Card-defined status LED 3; for example, it indicates Channel 1 note level with the Turing Machine card.
  • LED 5— Card-defined status LED 5; for example, it indicates Pulse Out 1 activity with the Turing Machine card.
  • LED 6— Card-defined status LED 6; for example, it indicates Pulse Out 2 activity with the Turing Machine card.
  • LED 4— Card-defined status LED 4; for example, it indicates Channel 2 note level with the Turing Machine card.
