Nekyia Circuits Wand
Voltage processor
4 HP Eurorack module
Wand is a Buchla 257-based voltage processor combining a voltage-controlled crossfader with a level VCA, an attenuverter and a bipolar offset generator. Their summed output processes audio and control signals.
Features
- Crossfader blends α Input and β Input, with +/-5 V control through Crossfader CV Input.
- γ Attenuverter adjusts the level and polarity of γ Input.
- Offset adds a bipolar voltage with a PCB jumper selecting a +/-5 V or +/-10 V range. Offset Amount indicates the bipolar offset amount.
- VCA CV Input accepts 0-10 V to control the crossfader section's level.
- Sum Output combines the crossfader, attenuverter and offset sections for audio or control-voltage processing.
- Remember: Disconnect system power before installation. Check ribbon-cable polarity, aligning the red stripe with -12 V at both the module's white bold line and the bus board.
Controls & Jacks (10)
- Offset— Sets the bipolar DC offset added to the summed output; the range is configured as ±5 V or ±10 V by a PCB jumper.
- Crossfader CV Input— ±5 V control-voltage input controlling the crossfade between α and β; also supports the documented linear-VCA and Boolean-logic patches.
- Sum Output— Outputs the sum of the VCA-controlled crossfader signal, attenuverted γ signal, and bipolar offset.
- α Input— First audio or control-voltage signal input to the crossfader.
- β Input— Second audio or control-voltage signal input to the crossfader.
- γ Attenuverter— Attenuates and inverts the γ input signal before it is added to the summed output.
- Offset Amount— Separate LED indicating the bipolar offset amount.
- γ Input— Audio or control-voltage input processed by the γ attenuverter and added to the summed output.
- Crossfader— Crossfades between the α and β inputs. With a signal patched to β and this control fully counterclockwise, the crossfader CV input provides
- VCA CV Input— 0–10 V control-voltage input controlling the level of the crossfader section.
How-To Guides
- Set up linear and dual VCA operation
- Patch a crossfader with level control
- Mix three audio or CV signals
- Add controlled randomness to a sequence
- Mix and accent trigger sequences
- Patch Boolean AND logic
- Patch Boolean OR logic
