Neutral Labs Pip
Dual morphable LFO with CV recording and clock division
8 HP Eurorack module
Pip is a Neutral Labs dual-channel wavetable LFO with recordable CV waveforms. It features morphing between preset and recorded waveforms, clock division between channels, free and phase modes, and both unipolar and bipolar outputs.
Features
- Dual-channel simultaneous CV output, one per channel
- Channel B is master clock, channel A is slaved via division, free ratio, or phase offset
- 16 wavetable pages per channel with 3 morphable waveforms per page
- Page 0 on channel A: sample-and-glide (CCW) and sample-and-hold (CW) random page
- Page 0 on channel B: constant value (CCW) to sample-and-hold (CW) for modulating channel A
- CV recording of one cycle at 128 steps resolution onto the middle waveform slot of any page
- Morphing between recorded CV and adjacent wavetable waveforms via MORPH knob
- MORPH knob movement can itself be recorded if no CV jack is inserted
- Unipolar (0V to +5V) and bipolar (-5V to +5V) outputs per channel, output simultaneously
- Tap tempo via SYNC button with external sync input
- Clock rate range: approximately 0.0083 Hz (2 minute period) to 10 Hz (100 ms period)
- External CV input per channel mimics MORPH knob function (0V to +5V usable)
Controls & Jacks (18)
- MORPH A — Morph between waveforms on channel A. Counterclockwise position selects left waveform, middle position selects middle waveform (or CV record
- MORPH B — Morph between waveforms on channel B. Counterclockwise position selects left waveform, middle position selects middle waveform (or CV record
- Sync — Tap button to set clock tempo. Tap at least twice at desired rate
- DIV — In normal mode, sets clock division ratio between channels A and B (1/4 to 2/1). In free mode, adjusts channel A tempo independently. In pha
- OUT A (unipolar) — Unipolar CV output for channel A, ranging from 0V to +5V.
- OUT B (bipolar) — Bipolar CV output for channel B, ranging from approximately -5V to +5V.
- OUT A (bipolar) — Bipolar CV output for channel A, ranging from approximately -5V to +5V.
- CV B — CV input for channel B. 0V to 5V usable range maps to MORPH B knob position. Overrides knob when connected.
- OUT B (unipolar) — Unipolar CV output for channel B, ranging from 0V to +5V.
- SYNC 1 — Tap to set clock tempo. Tap at least twice at desired rate to adjust master tempo for channel B.
- CV A — CV input for channel A. 0V to 5V usable range maps to MORPH A knob position. Overrides knob when connected.
- REC 1 — Hold during SYNC LED flash to record CV for one cycle. Recording is stored as middle waveform of current page.
- REC 2 — Recording gate input. Voltage above +1.5V enables recording. Overrides REC button when connected.
- SYNC 2 — External sync input. Positive voltage pulses sync to internal clock. Overrides SYNC button when connected.
- PG A — Select wavetable page for channel A. Quick press cycles pages. Long press (~1 second) toggles between normal/free mode.
- PG B — Select wavetable page for channel B. Quick press cycles pages. Long press (~1 second) toggles between normal/phase mode.
- Rec — Hold during SYNC LED flash to record CV input for one cycle
- 2/1 — LED showing the current clock division ratio between channels A and B
