Noise Engineering Gamut Repetitor
Quad looping random generator with 27 scales
10 HP Eurorack module
Gamut Repetitor is a four-channel random quantized voltage generator with looping, range, key, and scale settings. Generate four random voltages by sending triggers, then lock in a pattern by reducing the Length control. Features a built-in quantizer with 27 selectable scales organized by major/minor/symmetric families, flavor variations, and note count. Trigger inputs are normalled top to bottom so a single clock can drive all four channels.
Features
- Four independent channels of quantized random voltage generation
- Loop length control from 1 step to infinite (continuous random)
- Built-in quantizer with 27 selectable scales via three switches
- Scale families: major, minor, and symmetric
- Root note control sets the tonal center
- Spread control adjusts deviation from root, 0 to 24 semitones
- Down/Up shifts the voltage range above or below root
- Trigger inputs normalled top to bottom for single-clock operation
- Trigger outputs with passthrough or rhythm generation mode
- CV inputs for Root, Length, M/M/S, Dn/Up, Scale, and Spread
- Reset input returns all channels to loop start on next trigger
- Length LED indicates loop length: red for multiples of 2, blue for 3, purple for both
Controls & Jacks (27)
- Root — Sets the root note of the scale used to generate random voltages.
- Spread — Controls the amount of deviation from the root note, from 0 to 24 semitones.
- Length — Sets the loop length. Fully clockwise generates random voltages continuously. Turn down to loop the most recent voltages. Values divisible b
- Down/Up — Shifts the range of voltages around the root note. At maximum, the range extends above root; at minimum, below root.
- Maj/Min/Sym — Selects between major, minor, and symmetric scale families.
- Flavor — Changes the style of the selected scale.
- Count — Changes the number of notes used in the scale.
- Reset — Resets all four channels to the start of the loop on the next trigger. Hold for a few seconds to toggle trigger outputs between passthrough
- In 1 — Trigger input that advances channel 1 or generates a new random voltage. Normalled to In 2/3/4.
- In 2 — Trigger input for channel 2. Normalled from In 1 and to In 3.
- In 3 — Trigger input for channel 3. Normalled from In 2 and to In 4.
- In 4 — Trigger input for channel 4. Normalled from In 3.
- Reset In — Trigger input that resets all four channels to the starting value of the loop on the next trigger when Length is less than infinite.
- Root CV In — CV input for Root parameter. 0V to +5V range.
- Length CV In — CV input for Length parameter. 0V to +5V range.
- M/M/S CV In — CV input controlling the Maj/Min/Sym switch position.
- Dn/Up CV In — CV input for Down/Up parameter. 0V to +5V range.
- Spread CV In — CV input for Spread parameter. 0V to +5V range.
- Scale CV In — CV input controlling all positions of Flavor and Count switches.
- Trig Out 1 — Trigger output for channel 1. Passes through input triggers by default; hold Reset to enable rhythm generation mode.
- Trig Out 2 — Trigger output for channel 2.
- Trig Out 3 — Trigger output for channel 3.
- Trig Out 4 — Trigger output for channel 4.
- CV Out 1 — Quantized 1V/oct random voltage output for channel 1. 0V to +5V range.
- CV Out 2 — Quantized 1V/oct random voltage output for channel 2.
- CV Out 3 — Quantized 1V/oct random voltage output for channel 3.
- CV Out 4 — Quantized 1V/oct random voltage output for channel 4.
