Noise Engineering Numeric Repetitor
Binary arithmetic rhythm generator with four gate outputs
8 HP Eurorack module
Numeric Repetitor is a rhythmic gate generator that uses binary arithmetic to create and vary drum patterns. A core 'prime' rhythm is treated as a binary number and multiplied by factor values to produce musically meaningful variations, generating up to four simultaneous gate outputs with a single clock input.
Features
- 32 prime rhythms derived from all possible 16-unit rhythms via heuristic filtering
- Binary multiplication of prime rhythms to generate product variations
- Four simultaneous gate outputs: PRIME plus three PRODUCT outputs
- Three FACTOR knobs with CV inputs for real-time variation control
- FACTOR 2 applies binary-AND with 0x0F0F before multiplication
- FACTOR 3 applies binary-AND with 0xF003 before multiplication
- BEAT clock input advances on rising edge, resets gates on falling edge
- MEASURE input for external measure-sync reset
- RST button pauses and resets to measure start on release
- SET switch selects between two banks of patterns with orange LED indicator
- PRIME CV input scalable by PRIME knob
- 6V low impedance gate outputs compatible with most gate-driven devices
Controls & Jacks (19)
- PRIME — Selects the base rhythm pattern from 32 prime rhythms. Acts as a scalar for PRIME CV input.
- FACTOR 2 — Controls the variation factor for PRODUCT 2 with binary-and masking at 0x0F0F. Can be modulated via CV.
- FACTOR 1 — Controls the variation factor multiplied by the PRIME pattern to produce PRODUCT 1. Can be modulated via CV.
- I
- PRODUCT 3 — 6V low impedance gate output of the PRIME pattern with binary-and masking multiplied by FACTOR 3.
- PRIME — 6V low impedance gate output of the selected PRIME pattern.
- PRODUCT 1 — 6V low impedance gate output of the PRIME pattern multiplied by FACTOR 1.
- FACTOR 3 CV — Control voltage input for modulating FACTOR 3.
- FACTOR 3 — Controls the variation factor for PRODUCT 3 with binary-and masking at 0xF003. Can be modulated via CV.
- MEASURE — Resets the beat to the start of the measure on a rising edge.
- BEAT — Clock input that advances time on rising edge and returns active gates to zero on falling edge.
- FACTOR 1 CV — Control voltage input for modulating FACTOR 1.
- FACTOR 2 CV — Control voltage input for modulating FACTOR 2.
- PRODUCT 2 — 6V low impedance gate output of the PRIME pattern with binary-and masking multiplied by FACTOR 2.
- PRIME CV — Control voltage input for modulating PRIME pattern selection.
- Eopinsering
- RST — Pauses time advancement while pressed and resets to start of measure when released.
- SET — Selects which bank of patterns to use. Status indicated by orange LED.
- PRIME (CV input) — Control voltage input for modulating PRIME pattern selection.
