Four-channel CV envelope and LFO in 6HP
6 HP Eurorack module
Pons Asinorum is a compact four-channel voltage-controlled linear envelope generator and LFO in 6HP. Each channel can independently operate as a triggered envelope or a free-running LFO, with three shape modes and CV control over cycle length. Its single-encoder control scheme and channel select buttons make live adjustments across multiple channels fast and intuitive.

- Three shape modes: ramp up, up/down triangle, ramp down
- Per-channel LFO mode with phase reset via trigger
- Single Length Encoder controls all selected channels simultaneously
- Channel select buttons allow multi-channel editing or isolation
- Encoder press resets selected channels to minimum length; tap again to undo
- Hit button triggers selected channels in envelope mode or resets LFO phase
- CV inputs per channel for voltage-controlled cycle length
- Trigger inputs circularly normalled: trigger any unpatched channel to fire all
- Circular normalling breaks when additional trigger cables are patched
- CV range switchable per channel: short (up to 95s) or long (up to 320s)
- CV response switchable globally: continuous or sample and hold (set at power-up)
Controls & Jacks (27)
- Select 1 — Selects or deselects Channel 1 for editing. When selected, the channel LED is active.
- Select 1 LED — LED indicator showing Channel 1 selection status and relative cycle length.
- Select 2 — Selects or deselects Channel 2 for editing. When selected, the channel LED is active.
- Select 2 LED — LED indicator showing Channel 2 selection status and relative cycle length.
- Select 3 — Selects or deselects Channel 3 for editing. When selected, the channel LED is active.
- Select 3 LED — LED indicator showing Channel 3 selection status and relative cycle length.
- Select 4 — Selects or deselects Channel 4 for editing. When selected, the channel LED is active.
- Select 4 LED — LED indicator showing Channel 4 selection status and relative cycle length.
- Value — Rotary encoder that sets the cycle length of all currently selected channels. Pressing resets to minimum length.
- Hit — Tap to trigger selected channels in envelope mode or reset LFO phase. Hold 2 seconds to toggle LFO mode.
- AR — Three-position switch that sets the envelope shape for all four channels: ramp up, up/down, or ramp down.
- CV In 1 — CV input that extends Channel 1 cycle length beyond what the encoder sets. Responds to 0V-5V.
- CV In 2 — CV input that extends Channel 2 cycle length beyond what the encoder sets. Responds to 0V-5V.
- CV In 3 — CV input that extends Channel 3 cycle length beyond what the encoder sets. Responds to 0V-5V.
- CV In 4 — CV input that extends Channel 4 cycle length beyond what the encoder sets. Responds to 0V-5V.
- In 1 — Trigger input for Channel 1. Rising edge fires envelope or resets LFO phase. Circularly normalled.
- Out 1 — Output for Channel 1 envelope or LFO signal. Outputs 0V-5V.
- Channel 1 LED — LED indicator for Channel 1 output activity.
- In 2 — Trigger input for Channel 2. Rising edge fires envelope or resets LFO phase. Part of circular normalling chain.
- Out 2 — Output for Channel 2 envelope or LFO signal. Outputs 0V-5V.
- Channel 2 LED — LED indicator for Channel 2 output activity.
- In 3 — Trigger input for Channel 3. Rising edge fires envelope or resets LFO phase. Part of circular normalling chain.
- Out 3 — Output for Channel 3 envelope or LFO signal. Outputs 0V-5V.
- Channel 3 LED — LED indicator for Channel 3 output activity.
- In 4 — Trigger input for Channel 4. Rising edge fires envelope or resets LFO phase. Part of circular normalling chain.
- Out 4 — Output for Channel 4 envelope or LFO signal. Outputs 0V-5V.
