Noise Engineering Ruina Versio
Versatile destruction: every distortion type in one module
10 HP Eurorack module
Ruina Versio is a stereo digital distortion module for Eurorack that packs wavefolding, suboctave chorus, multiband saturation, full-wave rectification, phase shifting, notch filtering, and a brutal 128dB gain Smoosh button into 10HP. It is unapologetically aggressive and experimental, capable of everything from subtle harmonic enhancement to total sonic annihilation. As a Versio platform module, it can be reflashed via USB to run alternate firmwares including reverb, delay, and more.
Features
- Stereo DSP distortion platform (Versio ecosystem)
- Wavefolder based on Noise Engineering Infinifolder
- DOOM suboctave chorus with overtone buzz in top quarter of knob range
- Multiband saturator with four bands (low, low-mid, high-mid, high), inspired by Seca Ruina
- Full-wave rectification distortion (8vize), inspired by Pura Ruina
- Phase shifting for stereo width and phasing effects
- Notch filter with fixed 1kHz mode and Center-tracking mode
- Smoosh button: 128dB of gain via press or gate trigger
- Three signal chain order modes: UND, X, OVR
- Dry/wet blend control
- Stereo inputs and outputs
- Mono input normaling: L normaled to both inputs when R unpatched
Controls & Jacks (23)
- 8vize — Full-wave rectification distortion, inspired by Pura Ruina module.
- Phase — Phase shifts the left and right signals to create stereo width and/or phasing effects.
- Center — Width and position of the multiband saturator center band.
- Fold — Wavefolder control, based on the Noise Engineering Infinifolder.
- Blend — Dry/wet balance control. Fully left is unmodified input, fully right is only processed signal.
- Out
- DOOM — Suboctave chorus that adds detuned suboctave and overtone buzz. More evil as you turn it up.
- Out R — Right channel processed audio output.
- Smoosh — Press or trigger with a gate to add 128dB of gain.
- DOOM — Suboctave chorus that adds detuned suboctave and overtone buzz. More evil as you turn it up.
- Drive — Multiband saturator inspired by Seca Ruina. Emphasizes different frequency bands from low to high.
- In L 1 — Left channel audio input. Signal normaled to right input if right is unpatched.
- Out L — Left channel processed audio output.
- Drive — Multiband saturator inspired by Seca Ruina. Emphasizes different frequency bands from low to high.
- In L 2 — Left channel audio input. Signal normaled to right input if right is unpatched.

- Fold — Wavefolder control, based on the Noise Engineering Infinifolder.
- R
- OFF/ON/TRK — Notch filter mode: OFF (disabled), ON (fixed 1kHz notch), TRK (tracks Center knob frequency).
- Smoosh — Press or trigger with a gate to add 128dB of gain.
- In
- UND/X/OVR — Sets the signal flow: UND (Fold→DOOM→Rectify→Saturate), X (Fold→Saturate→Rectify→DOOM), OVR (Fold→DOOM→Rectify→Saturate→Fold).
