Noise Engineering Sinc Legio
Compact stereo oscillator with wavemorphing, folding, and PM in 6HP
6 HP Eurorack module
Sinc Legio is a compact stereo oscillator with three synthesis algorithms that cover a wide timbral range. Warp mode uses internal PM with a summed modulator for bright, heavily modulated sounds. Op mode is designed for multi-operator PM patches with external oscillators or self-modulation. Fold mode uses the Noise Engineering infinifolder for complex wavefolding timbres. A vintage-inspired stereo chorus can be applied to any algorithm. Hard-sync and stereo PM inputs make it equally powerful as a standalone voice or as an operator in a larger PM array. Part of the Legio platform — firmware can be swapped to any other Legio firmware for free via USB.
Features
- Three switchable synthesis algorithms: Warp (PM + summed modulator), Op (configurable PM operator), Fold (infinifolder wavefolding)
- Stereo audio outputs with vintage-inspired chorus in three settings (off, moderate, heavy)
- Morph control continuously changes the oscillator waveform across all algorithms
- Timbre control behavior changes per algorithm: modulation pitch (Warp), PM index (Op), fold amount (Fold)
- Hard-sync input for classic sync timbres with external oscillators
- Stereo phase-modulation inputs (PM L normals to PM R) for complex harmonic patches
- Pitch encoder with press-and-turn for coarse semitone steps and fine-tune mode
- 1V/octave calibrated pitch CV input with -2V to +5V range
- CV inputs for Morph and Timbre parameters (0V to +5V)
- Autocalibration on boot when nothing is patched to Pitch CV
- Part of the Legio platform — free firmware swapping via USB to any Legio firmware
- Audio output up to 16V peak-to-peak
Controls & Jacks (13)
- Pitch — Sets the pitch of the oscillator. Turn for fine tuning, press and turn for coarse tuning. Calibrated for 1V/octave tracking.
- Morph — Changes the waveform of the oscillator. Continuously morphs through available waveshapes.
- Timbre — Changes the timbre of the oscillator. Behavior depends on the selected algorithm: modulation pitch in Warp, PM index in Op, or fold amount i
- Warp/Op/Fold — Three-position switch that selects the oscillator algorithm. Warp: PM with summed modulator. Op: configurable PM operator. Fold: wavefolding
- Chorus — Three-position switch for the vintage-inspired stereo chorus effect. 0 is off, I is moderate, II is heavy.
- Sync In — Hard-sync input. Responds to a rising edge around +1.6V. Resets the oscillator phase on each trigger for classic hard-sync timbres.
- Pitch CV In — 1V/octave calibrated pitch CV input. Range: -2V to +5V. Autocalibrates on boot with nothing patched.
- Timbre CV In — CV modulation input for Timbre parameter. Range: 0V to +5V.
- Morph CV In — CV modulation input for Morph parameter. Range: 0V to +5V.
- PM L In — Left phase-modulation input for audio-rate signals. AC coupled. Patching here normals to the right channel. Use for complex harmonic PM patc
- Out L — Left audio output. Up to 16V peak-to-peak.
- PM R In — Right phase-modulation input for audio-rate signals. AC coupled. Can be used independently from PM L for stereo PM experiments.
- Out R — Right audio output. Up to 16V peak-to-peak.
