Noise Engineering Viol Ruina
Dual distortion and filter module for aggressive sound shaping
4 HP Eurorack module
Viol Ruina by Noise Engineering is a dual-channel distortion and filter module designed for aggressive timbral shaping. Each channel offers fold and distort processing with a frequency control, allowing signals to be mangled from subtle harmonic saturation to extreme wavefolding. CV inputs enable dynamic modulation of the distortion parameters.
Features
- 2 independent distortion/filter channels
- Fold and distort processing per channel
- Frequency control per channel
- CV inputs for dynamic modulation
- Compact form factor
- Suitable for audio and CV processing
Controls & Jacks (11)
- Frq — Filter cutoff frequency. Sums with the Frq CV input.
- Laser — Engages internal envelope follower routed to cutoff frequency. Down: off, middle: mild, up: extreme.
- Mangle — Distortion amount.
- Mod — Audio feedback FM to filter cutoff. Down: off, middle: mild, up: extreme.
- Q — Filter resonance.
- Frq CV — CV input for filter cutoff frequency. Responds to 0V to 5V.
- Filter Out — Audio output from the filter. Normaled to Mangle In; normal is broken when Mangle In is patched.
- Filter In — Audio input to the filter section.
- Mangle In — Audio input to the distortion section.
- Mangle Out — Audio output from the distortion section.
- Power — Power indicator.
