Befaco Percall
Quad percussive VCA with decay envelopes and choke
12 HP Eurorack module
Percall by Befaco is a quad percussive VCA with dedicated decay envelopes, a mixer output, strength (accent) input, and choke functionality. Designed for shaping four sound sources into percussive hits with minimal patching. Audio inputs are normalled (1→2, 3→4) enabling choke behavior between paired channels — perfect for open/closed hi-hat setups.
Features
- 4-channel VCA with built-in decay envelopes
- Choke grouping for hi-hat style interactions
- CV-controllable decay times
- Mix output for combined signal
- Normalized inputs for standalone envelope generator use
Controls & Jacks (35)
- Trig 1 — Trigger input for channel 1; fires the built-in decay envelope to open the VCA
- Trig 2 — Trigger input for channel 2; fires the built-in decay envelope to open the VCA
- Trig 3 — Trigger input for channel 3; fires the built-in decay envelope to open the VCA
- Trig 4 — Trigger input for channel 4; fires the built-in decay envelope to open the VCA
- Strength — Amplitude + decay CV control shared by all four envelopes. Normalled to 10V when unpatched.
- IN 1 — Audio input for channel 1. Normalled to IN 2.
- IN 2 — Audio input for channel 2. Receives IN 1 signal when unpatched.
- IN 3 — Audio input for channel 3. Normalled to IN 4.
- IN 4 — Audio input for channel 4. Receives IN 3 signal when unpatched.
- Vol 1 — Volume control for channel 1.
- Vol 2 — Volume control for channel 2.
- Vol 3 — Volume control for channel 3.
- Vol 4 — Volume control for channel 4.
- Vol LED 1 — LED showing the current envelope level and output amplitude of channel 1
- Vol LED 2 — LED showing the current envelope level and output amplitude of channel 2
- Vol LED 3 — LED showing the current envelope level and output amplitude of channel 3
- Vol LED 4 — LED showing the current envelope level and output amplitude of channel 4
- Choke Switch 1-2 — When active (up position), channel 1 trigger kills channel 2 envelope. Used for open/closed hi-hat setups.
- Choke Switch 3-4 — When active (up position), channel 3 trigger kills channel 4 envelope.
- Decay 1 — Controls the decay envelope time for channel 1.
- Decay 2 — Controls the decay envelope time for channel 2.
- Decay 3 — Controls the decay envelope time for channel 3.
- Decay 4 — Controls the decay envelope time for channel 4.
- CV 1 — Decay CV input for channel 1.
- CV 2 — Decay CV input for channel 2.
- CV 3 — Decay CV input for channel 3.
- CV 4 — Decay CV input for channel 4.
- ENV Out 1 — Envelope output for channel 1. Range 0-10V.
- ENV Out 2 — Envelope output for channel 2. Range 0-10V.
- ENV Out 3 — Envelope output for channel 3. Range 0-10V.
- ENV Out 4 — Envelope output for channel 4. Range 0-10V.
- Out 1 — Audio output for channel 1. Removed from mix when patched.
- Out 2 — Audio output for channel 2. Removed from mix when patched.
- Out 3 — Audio output for channel 3. Removed from mix when patched.
- Out 4/Mix — Summed mix output of all 4 channels. Channels 1-3 are removed from mix when their individual outputs are patched.
